Fun yet challenging
This was my 2nd time to play this course and I really enjoyed it both times. The course is not too difficult but is challenging. The greens are the most challenging. They are fast with a lot of breaking putts but they’re in good shape and roll true. I will definitely be back to play again
Greens are really starting to turn the corner! Smooth, rolling true. A few more spots to grow in, but the effort to get them shaped up is obvious. New carts are nice as well! Definitely headed in the right direction.
Revitalized Annetta Course
According to the helpful guy at the proshop, the course is under new management and money is being spent on improving the course conditions. There are some bare spots in the fairway and a few greens have bare spots. In both cases, the greens had been treated with seeding, so they are working on the course.
The grass was cut perfect and the greens ran about average for Texas pre-summer pace. There was plenty of cold water available in roughly 6 coolers throughout the course.
You could easily be picky, but they have priced the course accordingly. It's a tough course with several memorable layouts.
Awful Experience
Genuinely the worst golf experience I’ve ever had. There was a group of 6 and a group of 8 in front of me that wouldn’t allow me to play through. The course isn’t in good shape. Overall terrible experience.
Nice track
A few of the greens need some work very nice course overall
Goat Track
This place is in horrible shape. If this was the last place on earth to play golf, I’d take up crocheting. I gave the pace of play 5 stars only because there’s nobody out there playing it due to the condition it’s in. They spent money remodeling the clubhouse instead of keeping the course in good shape. Can’t wait for new management to take over and make it as nice as it once was
Split rail
Played this course a long time ago when I was a teenager and it was a great course in great condition. Played it for the first time in probably 15 years and it may be the worst course I have ever actually played on in my life. Every fairways was more dirt than actual grass. The greens were thick, slow and patchy. Could be a good course but very very poorly kept up with.
Don’t think that they have a grounds crew
Every fairway was abysmal. Even if all of our rain the past month it was by far the worst course I’ve played in the metroplex.
Terrible shape - disappointing
Greens are dead in spots. Some are half dead.
Fairways have dead spots everywhere. 10x worse than last year.
Very disappointing how this course has fallen off in past 2 years. I won’t be back for awhile.
Course needs work
Fairways need a lot of work. Many areas of dirt fairways on several holes. Grass in the rough is to thick. Lost a few balls that should have been easily found. Overall I didn't feel it was worth the money that I paid to golf there.
Course is in rough shape
If I didn't prepay I would have turned around. This is due to the condition of the course. There was a lot of bare patches on the greens and even wourse everywhere else. I don't know why. We've had a lot of rain. The layout is challenging, and is fair. Too bad. Greens are extremely slow. Just about every green had bare patches. Maybe it's a soil thing, but I'm no expert.
Course condition’s
I’ve read some past reviews but played here anyway. I was surprised to see that it wasn’t nearly as bad as they made it look. Yes there were some a few of the greens and fairways but overall we found it pretty playable. We’ll be back maybe even this week.
Absolute worst course condition I have ever played
The nice clubhouse deceives you from the entire playing of this golf course. From the first tee to the ninth in which I left early because I could not endure a full round, the condition seemed to increasingly get worse. I could have used my truck as a golf cart and nobody would be able to tell afterwards. Maybe this is due to lack of work ethic the maintenance crew obtains, or the fact that they have zero structure. Today I observed two high school aged young men doing donuts in the fairway on a “cart path only” day. It seems that the lack of structure and laziness all together led this high potential course to absolutely crash and burn. It seems to be no hope for this course. I would probably build houses in its place if I were them.
Horrible
This is the worse golf course I have ever played in my life. The whole course is terrible and has no grasss. It’s an absolute joke of a course, never waste money on it.
Bad shape
The course was in bad shape. The fairway were ok but the greens were in bad shape. There was No course alert when booking mentioning that the greens were aerified. Looked like they just punched them and didn’t cover the holes with sand.
Drove 45min-1hr to play and was disappointed when we got there.
Overall not great shape
Course from fairway to the greens are not in good shape and charging 45 during the week to play a course in such bad shape is not a good deal at all, staff was friendly no issues overall will not play this course again unless alot more work is done
SplitRail is in terrible condition
So, many of the local public courses have had a tough time coming back from winter with how wet it has been but SplitRail has really fallen way behind. Most of the greens are unplayable and are mostly dirt (say 12 out of 18). The fairways are about the same (playable but covered in weeds where there is any grass at all). Really bad. It looks like Lost Creek right before it closed for good and fear it is in the same trajectory.
