The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Wild Burro/Saguaro
About
Nestled in the desert foothills of the Tortolita Mountain Range, the 27 holes at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain feature dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. The three nines were all designed by Jack Nicklaus and are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wild Burro/Saguaro golf course combines Nicklaus' favorite nine, Wild Burro, with the front nine of the Accenture Match Play Championship. The golf course features intricately contoured greens and carefully placed fairway bunkers. The course plays through canyons and desert washes covered in centuries-old Saguaro cacti. The third, fourth and fifth holes on the Wild Burro nine are notably challenging with the third featuring an "island green" standing amidst sand and cacti.

Beautiful and challenging
Golfed on a beautiful cloudy warm day . Perfect weather, course in wonderful shape. Tees are always challenging and fun. Hit some great shots and really enjoyed our experience at Dove Mountain. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back.
Beautiful setting
Great layout in a beautiful setting. I played during the Coronavirus outbreak and I appreciate the efforts made to keep everyone save.
First Class Golf Course
I've been a fan of Dove Mountain well before WGC Accenture Match Play began 14 +years ago and since they left.
Every time I'm there I remember how the Top 64 Golfers in World played their shots. Even when it snowed there during third round of WGC Match Play.
Beautifully maintained tee boxes and fairways. Few Greens were showing some sign of wear but overall they were in very good shape. Greens are small and sloped and falls off like US Open greens. Bunkers are abundant and strategically placed for all playing abilities, so you will eventually be in several fairway and green-side bunkers during your round. Various Tee boxes are available for all skill levels, Blue tee box will test even the very best of the single digit players. But, well worth the challenge it provides. Good for your humility and levels all off egos.
The Practice Range and Putting Green are as good as they come, and Staff is excellent. Carts come with their Course GPS. Its even designed so it won't let you drive close to the Greens. Smart technology at work.
All around a great 1st Class experience, just don't expect to play to your handicap. And you will thorough enjoy the layout, its view of the Mountain and abundant Sahuaro cacti. By the way DO Not go looking far for a stray ball, especially this time of season into Fall; Diamondback rattlesnakes are now out and even worse watch for those Jumping Cholla's. Consider you've been forewarned.
Enjoy !
expected more
for a course that held a PGA tour event I was expecting it to be in better shape, was average at best.
this course has many bunkers
The course was in excellent condition and very challenging with many bunkers in the fairway and in front of the greens.
Very nice course
The course was very nice. Sone greens had patches on the edges but nice layout..very friendly people
Consistantly Awesome!
The greens are perfect, fast but not too fast, fairways are getting a lot of play but still show well, grass is always perfect, the only negative is the sand in the bunkers is shallow and has lots of pieces of small stone in it, most bunkers are like this. This is a Beautiful place with literally thousands of Surguaro cactus in every direction On each mountain side.
Ritz Carlton Course for those with deep pockets.
For a 150 dollar green fee, I did not think this is a value course or even a must play. Greens were fine if players would fix divots on green. Pin locations by greens keeper were impossible...Always over a deep bunker and always short sided like it was a PGA Tournament. I would skip this one. Arizona National was 1/3 the cost and as nice and I think better in many aspects.
Great looking course, but nearly impossible...
The course and view were incredible! We went with for our 2020 golf trip with 8 of us. The greens and fairways were in immaculate shape, but the course was easily the hardest any of the 8 of us have played in our lives. It was almost diabolical. The pin placements, length, bunker setup, and fast greens contributed to every one of us shooting 10-20 shots more than what we normally would. It was almost unfair how hard it was. If you like being overly challenged on the golf course, this is for you. No complaints on anything other than the course difficulty!
Great course. Outside staff dismissive
Outside staff approached 4 times to determine which 9 ‘s we were playing only to be held 15 minutes from our start with a last minute explanation . Carts were dust covered and our GPS had the wrong pins so yardages were incorrect. After being assured our delay would be picked up on an empty back 9 we made the turn as a group left the tee in front of us. Felt uninformed and not valued. Will think twice before paying $150 again. Communication is key.
Top of the Class Desert Golf Course
The staff and all employees were very friendly and helpful!! Course is in Excellent condition and the sencic view of the mountains are worth every dollar spent!!!
Dove Mtn
Enjoyed my round. Pace of play was awesome and course in good condition. Greens challenging but fair. Staff was great at all levels
Beautiful venue
There is ample room to hit fairways which is vital because hitting and holding the greens is very difficult. Putting is a challenge and that is the “Christian description”!!!
Great course, poor service
Overall A+ course but beyond sub par service. Arrived to the course an hour before my tee time, went to drop my bag at the bag drop and no one was there so I just left my clubs unattended. Dropped the car and walked back up, still no one there, went inside and there were 4 staff members all standing around talking. Went back to the bag drop, grabbed my clubs and walked them out to the range before I finally asked where to take my clubs/get a cart. 5 minutes before tee time I head back to the cart area and ask where I should go. Guy points in a general direction of the first tee (there are 3 courses) and says the starter will grab me, so I head that way. Now it's 5 minutes past my tee time and I have yet to see said starter, so I head back to the cart area and inquire again, some dude comes whipping around the cart and just tells me to head off by myself( could have done that 15 minutes ago). When I finish the round I waited 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me standing there to get my clubs washed off, even though they helped the group behind me first. I had them drop the bag at the front so I could run and grab my car, when I grab my clubs they hadn't even been wiped off!!! For a high end resort course it was anything but high end service.
