About
The desert foothills of the Tortolita Mountain Range provide the stunning backdrop for the three nines designed by Jack Nicklaus at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain. They are played in three different 18-hole combinations, one of them being Tortolita/Wild Burro. The Tortolita nine serves as the back nine for the PGA Tour's Accenture Match Play Championship, but Nicklaus considers Wild Burro to be the best of the three. Playing through canyons and desert washes, the golf course features dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. Tortolita's third hole has the highest elevation at the club while the ninth hole on Wild Burro is the longest finishing hole of any of the nines. The intricately contoured greens and strategic fairway bunkering provide a challenge for even experienced golfers.

Nice Course, But Hard
The course is quite nice, but pretty hard. Was in very good condition. Maybe too hard for high handicap players. Saw a wild pig on the course as an extra highlight.
We love all 3 9-hole courses !!
Every year in early November we visit Oro Valley.
This year we played 9 rounds in 11 days, Dove Mountain twice !
Just so beautiful out there, the views, the fairways, good fast greens...
Great But
Maybe its the time of year but the greens were really furry. Almost non golf course like,. Otherwise I had a great experience. I did play two other area courses, One had real greens and the other was just like these. ``````````
Wild Burro was our front nine. It was cart-path only, no one mentioned that at checkIn And they turned on the green side sprinklers on hole nine, making it hard to play. The Saguaro course was better.
Jack is devious!
Beautiful desert courses. Difficult and challenging. Great staff and easy to book. Quiet out there with no one pushing behind us or us having to wait. All our own pace. Beautiful winter day. Played Wild Boar (no cart on fairway) and Saguaro - could use cart path and drive on all fairways but #4).
Our yearly visit
It's the best. Most beautiful enviornment. Be patient, it's difficult for Index 25 or higher....
The golf course design is great but the greens are far too drastic for the average or even a 2-10 handicap player. Diabolical to be exact. The greens are too small and way too many mounds and slopes all over every green . If the grounds crew cut the greens to run at 10.5 to 12 on the stemp meter they would be unplayable.
But the track and views are spectacular. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful.
Growing into great
The course has reopened Saguaro and Tortolita after refreshing most of the bunkers and all the greens after 20+ years. Saguaro is recovering nicely but cart path only which added at least an hour to the round. Tortolita is lush in the fairways and well recovered enough to allow carts on a 90 degree entry/exit. Obviously pace of play improved greatly but still a 5 hr round.
Great course. Great staff. Look forward to playing here again next time I’m through Tucson.

This is a great track for desert golf. My favorite in phx or Tucson.

Great course
Great course would of gave higher but they just over seeded fairway on one of the 9s so had to play cart path only on that 9 holes.
Re-seeding operations in process and going well it seems., The greens were beat up and blotchy. Looks like bad turf conditions underneath. Need help.
