About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Terrible pace of play
Played here with a buddy for the first time in a little bit and the pace of play was the worst I have ever seen. 4 hours in and we didn’t even finish hole 13. We ended up just leaving at that point because it was clear the marshals either weren’t there or didn’t care.
Good course
We enjoyed a good round at Whitestone. Most tees, fairways, and greens are in good shape.

GO PLAY THIS COURSE!!
Ok ladies and gentleman, here ya go. I remember when there was just Pecan Valley and I remember when Whitestone made its debut. It was ok, and then it went down hill for a long while. Tony and his team has poured their heart and soul into this course. Don’t believe me? Go see for your self!! Great course layout, greens are slick as owl s$&(.
Let’s get down to staff. We have all had the snobby A Ho&/$ and I refuse to spend my money there. The staff at Whitestone is AMAZING!! Such a friendly atmosphere. The management here is awesome and very friendly. It is and will continue to be my “home course”. No bull from a no bull guy.

Go if you’re good
I would recommend going only if you can shoot 90s or better but this isn’t a great pace of play place for someone with high handicaps. Marshall came and asked to speed up 4-5 times and we were the ones waiting on group in front about 80% of the time. Great harder course. Lots of rocks in sand traps so beware.

Great course
This is a great course, the greens are fast and the holes are challenging but I've had great experiences every time I've gone. I now go back to play this course regularly and enjoy it every time.

Horrible course to play
They book people 4 minutes apart so they can get as much money as they can. We tee’d off 25 minutes late because the guys in front of us where looking for balls and the Marshall just set there and watched. 3 groups where waiting to tee off and he did nothing but wanna search Ny bag. We didn’t get to finish all 18 because of this. The 3 of us golf every weekend but it won’t be at this course

Horrible pace of play
I went with my brother to play because he loves the course, but by the end of the front nine we had waited 30 minutes already and there was a line of 5 groups all waiting to play 10. We skipped out and went to the pro shop to try and see if we could get a discount since we only played nine holes and the response was “because it’s not raining there is nothing I can do for you.” And that the course was “maintaining pace of play” while set for a 6 hour round. Pathetic pace of play and they did nothing to compensate for it except make the group slowing everyone down (a foursome of pretty bad guys) play from the womens tees
Restored beauty
This course has gone up and down over the years due to changes in management. Let me tell you that it is now better than it has been in nearly 20 years. The new management has gone out of it's way to make sure everything is top notch, even the small details of green sand on the carts complements this gorgeous course.
The assistant GM Katy was one of the nicest, professional staff that I have met at any facility in my 40 years as a golfer.
Do yourself a favor and make sure you get out and play Whitestone, this Jay Morrish layout is great to play once or once a week. You will not be disappointed.
