About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Horrible pace of play
I went with my brother to play because he loves the course, but by the end of the front nine we had waited 30 minutes already and there was a line of 5 groups all waiting to play 10. We skipped out and went to the pro shop to try and see if we could get a discount since we only played nine holes and the response was “because it’s not raining there is nothing I can do for you.” And that the course was “maintaining pace of play” while set for a 6 hour round. Pathetic pace of play and they did nothing to compensate for it except make the group slowing everyone down (a foursome of pretty bad guys) play from the womens tees
Restored beauty
This course has gone up and down over the years due to changes in management. Let me tell you that it is now better than it has been in nearly 20 years. The new management has gone out of it's way to make sure everything is top notch, even the small details of green sand on the carts complements this gorgeous course.
The assistant GM Katy was one of the nicest, professional staff that I have met at any facility in my 40 years as a golfer.
Do yourself a favor and make sure you get out and play Whitestone, this Jay Morrish layout is great to play once or once a week. You will not be disappointed.

Second time around
We liked Whitstone so much that we played consecutive Tuesdays, but this time we got friends to meet us. Excellent course!

Fast greens...
Course was in excellent shape as usual. Greens were rolling true but very quick. Only suggestion would be GPS for carts to see the map with hazards. Lots of shots need to be placed, not just hammered.

Great time
We ended up playing with a group of five. Staff was very friendly Nd kindly reminded us to stay on pace. We were ahead compared to the group of four behind us so we kept getting compliments that we were doing good. So lots of fun and didn’t have to worry about the pace too much.

Hitting off rocks in every fairway
Staff is awesome and usually this course is great. I guess they gave up this last time I was out there. Was waiting around 15-20 minutes each hole just waiting on the three groups ahead to tee off and finish the hole out. You’d think they could’ve spaced them out better than they did. The fairways were dry and it was pretty much like hitting off granite if you were anywhere in the fairway. Scuffed up multiple clubs out there. Wish I could get my money back.

Great course!
This is our first time to play this course. 1.) The staff was extremely friendly from the young man that checked us in, to the Marshall, to the man who checked on us because they had a problem with a few carts and also gave us a couple of ice cold waters, and to the pro that thanked us for coming and playing. 2.) The course is in excellent condition for the end of the summer. 3.) The greens were running a 12 on the stempmeter and I love fast greens. Best greens I have experienced in probably three years of playing all over Texas. 4.) Highly recommend this course and the people here make it even better.

Always an amazing course and staff
Had the pleasure of playing 3 rounds last week and everything was top notch. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We played several other higher priced golf courses in the area and these greens were by far the most fun and fastest out of all of them. Amazing greens. Course layout is fun. Especially the back 9. Will be back again and again.

Lost Range Finder
Everything about this course was great! And as this is nobodies fault, but mine for leaving my rangefinder magnetized to the cart. But when I emailed the course and asked them to get it for me and save it, and I would come back up there and get it I never received a response back or anything, so just know that if you do forget something in the cart, you will not get it back.
