About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

They Don’t Like Singles
This is a nice course, but don’t expect to get GolfNow discounted prices if you are a solo player. This course does NOT like “singles.” If you try to select “1” player for a Hot Deal, it will tell you that the tee time is no longer available. That is not true! If you book 2-4 players and then try to modify the reservation to “1”, the course will cancel your tee time. I have not found any other GolfNow course that does this. It seems like they would rather have ONE player that ZERO players, but that is not the case. I like the course, but I will play somewhere else.
This course was excellent down from grounds keeping to the staff
This course was absolutely stunning each hole and I enjoyed my time it was not busy at all so we got to take it in. We were able to find many balls and shoot good scores for our skill. Definitely want to come again!

Poor Pace of Play Management
Our group of 3, mid-high handicappers played a scramble. We were warned when we arrived at our tee time (prior to 8:30) that the course was very booked with 290+ golfers. On the first tee, we were waiting for the group before us to clear the path and were advised that we needed to pick up the pace of play today because it was so busy.
We often waited for the groups before us to finish, which was fine. We understand, we were fine with giving each golfer his/her time to enjoy the course. The group behind us however was impatient, they hit out of turn while we were still in the path. They cursed about the pace not being fast enough for them. We brought this to the attention to the course Marshall who did speak with them. The Marshall then came back to us and follow us from hole to hole to make sure we were playing fast enough, he even recommended we hit from a closer tee box to “speed things up”. However, we also were limited on how fast we could play by the line in front of us.
Other reviews seem to say the same thing. The course over-books itself and then pushes players to hurry up. They said our round should take 4 hours and 15 minutes and we finished in 4:30, right around 10 over par.
We did alert the course manager who apologized and provided a discount on our next round. However, it’s unlikely we will be back. We’ve been playing locally at other courses the past few Saturdays, busy days, and have never had this issue. I’d choose another course close by.
Greens excellent
Full marks for having the fastest greens I've played in DFW this year. Smooth and lightning fast and exactly what I like as a scratch golfer. Still an underratedly tough course even though it seems like there are plenty of gettable holes. I'll make the drive from Dallas to play a few more times while the greens are this fast.

Great course, needs some water
It’s a good course great layout some challenging holes. The greens roll true but good luck! Holding them from even around the green was a joke they are rock hard. They are like glass. If it was downhill putt don’t miss the hole bc it’s gone.

BEST GREENS IN DFW
I have played WhiteStone quite a few times. It is usually always in pretty good shape. My only complaint is their bunkers. I don’t know why they don’t invest in some better sand. I know it’s not cheap to run a golf course. But they could do a few trap set a time. But overall, the course is in fantastic condition. The putting greens are so hard to read. Probably the top five putting greens I have ever played on in my entire life. The grounds crew and superintendent are doing a great job!

Great course. Terrible pace.
Course was in great shape. Some of the best greens in DFW and a fun layout. The pace of play, however, was terrible. The round took 5 hours.
