Whitestone Golf Course

The course was way way way over booked. People where cutting around the course to open holes which made things worse. Need to not over book so people get their moneys worth. Also need signs near the bathroom on the course I slipped and almost ate it

This is the absolute worst course I’ve ever played in my life. I understand it’s February in Texas and courses are not going to be in pristine condition. However, the fairways were basically dirt, the bunkers were complete dirt, zero sand. The place of play was atrocious, people are literally leaving their carts in the middle of the fairway while the walk up to the green to putt. The Marshall never made one round to keep track of the pace. Players are hitting 3-4 tee shots and spending 15-20 mins on each green. $60 for a round on this course is a joke, it should be under $25 with a cart included. Avoid this place at all costs. What was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon to celebrate my birthday with my friends turned into a complete and total disaster. They should literally turn this place into a mall or something. It’s that horrible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

Probably the best greens in Fort Worth. Keeps me coming back. Fairways still thin as expected in the winter. Awesome customer service. Nice carts, free waters, towels, and tees in the carts is a great touch for a public golf course. Paid way more at Fossil Creek two weeks ago for less. Pace of play was okay, but of course it was very busy so I get that. Keep it up WhiteStone you’re quickly becoming our go to in the 817.

Staff is super friendly and accommodating. You can tell on some fairways that we both went through a drought this past summer (No Rain) and have had some tough conditions so far this winter. All things considered the course is much improved. The greens are excellent. Many trees cleared. The track is tough and requires you to think through shots if you want to score well. I love this challenge. Cant wait for spring when the grass greens up and the fairways thicken. . Love this course

We have played here many times over the past few years. This is by far the worst condition the course has ever been in. The fairway is thin and almost non existent in about 85% of every hole. There is no rough to catch balls that may have been hit well but slope away and run completely off into a ditch or ravine area. You end up trying to pick balls off the ground as there is little to no turf present. Maybe the rain will help but I am not sure if it will be enough. We tee’d off at 1240 and our cart died on hole 16 at 4. At this point we were completely and utterly disgusted with the conditions by the time we were brought out a replacement cart we decided it was time to leave. It was just the cap we needed to end an already frustrating round. We are by no means pros my buddy holds an 11 handicap and I play a 16, but this was beyond belief as to the conditions that were handed to us for a $50 price tag. I’m not sure I would have pd half that knowing the conditions were as bad as they were. We will NOT be returning for a very long time, and unfortunately we will be letting others know of the tragic conditions at the course. I wish I had taken pics to post but unfortunately I did not know the review would have a spot to upload or I definitely would have.

This is an amazing track that challenges you every time you play differently depending on the wind.

They have cleared an enormous amount of cover ( trees) and by doing so I believe the wind now plays in to your game even more. It is noticeable on 2,3,7 and now both 9 and 18.

If you’re an avid golfer then you understand the course management they are doing. They are creating a challenging long track that will give you fits everywhere.

Love playing this track and the Staff actually makes it more inviting. If i could give this course ownership one piece of advice,… BUILD A NEW CLUBHOUSE!!!

Bunkers need renovating badly. Need to water more in spring and summer there so will be fairway grass in the fall and winter. Our group of 12 won't be playing there until you get some fairway grass.

The course is in bad shape especially for the price not a good experience and not sure if I'll play there again..

Course shape isn’t anything to rave about, they let a 5-some tee off and wouldn’t let anyone pass. Asked the Marshall for assistance and they did nothing. We gave up after 9 holes took us 3 hours

Yesterday was an excellent day to play a round of golf The course was in excellent shape considering the ice storm we had the past four days .... fairways and greens were in very good condition, and you can see all the improvements that have been made during the past two years, which really makes the course that much more enjoyable! It was a little slow because it was cart path only, but still moved pretty briskly. Whitestone is becoming one of my favorite courses to play and we are booking another tee time for this Saturday as well.

This review would have been higher except the majority of the fairways (at least where is was landing) was hard pan. This is due to time of year but I also suspect there was a lack of watering and even “punching that led to the severity of the condition. I will say on the back nine i found more grass but overall you were better off driving in the rough versus the fairways. This track has been on my “places to play” for many years since my parents lived in Granbury. This was my first visit and I love the design! Lots of risk and reward shots for golfers of all levels. The tee setups appear to be good equalizers when you have different levels of players. Regarding the pace of play we were a foursome who had a twosome ahead of us. They were novices and we waited on every tee box, however it appeared to us that they were waiting on the foursome ahead of them who were very very slow playing.

I have to say the greens were FANTASTIC. Great shape and true rolls to the reads. Pretty quick but fair…

Overall we had a great time even with the hard pan and the waits. We will be back to play it iSpring/Summer conditions to test it again.

We had to change carts two times because of mechanical problems (brakes and low battery). The 12-volt ports on all the carts do not work (per staff member). Carts also need to be cleaned better.
