About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Fast and Fun
Played this course for the first time and really enjoyed it. Read several reviews beforehand that spoke to the fast greens. They were fast and very fun to putt. The course has a lot of really interesting holes, pace of play was great, staff were awesome and course amenities were very nice. Would definitely recommend you give this place a try!

Conditions
I love all the improvements you have made the course is certainly more pleasurable. However the lack of sand in the bunkers is horrible I like many golfers have a lot of money tied up in my golf clubs and I will NOT hit them out of the dirt in the bunkers.
That is the only issue I have.
I volunteered at Whitestone for several years under the old owners. And I appreciate the improvements and the clean up.

Whew Whitestone
This course is a fantastic find. Very challenging and has the fastest greens in Texas. We had fun, and the value was unbelievable.

Only negative....greens were so fast l found myself not putting to make putt but "Defensevely" trying to keep ball from rolling way past hole.They need to remember we are weekend players not pros,we want to putt for a MAKE.
That said my playing partner made an EAGLE and l had

Greens
Greens were extremely fast. If you miss a downhill putt here comes another 3 putt. Not crazy about the sand traps.

Good value
The course is a great layout that offers some challenges and rewards for playing thoughtful shots. It does not require intricate knowledge of the course and gives a chance to play the course for the first time without penalizing reasonable shots.

Five Stars
From tee to green, this golf course is in the best shape I’ve seen it in years. Tee boxes have been leveled, fairways grown in, and the redone bunkering frame up the holes nicely. This place is firm and fast right now, an absolute pleasure to play. If you’re looking for slow and soft, where your ball sticks exactly where it lands, look elsewhere. Five stars.

Keith doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Not sure what Keith is talking about lol. If any real golfer knows what great greens are, Whitestone is NOT the place. Sure, they roll smooth and are fast but they have absolute no softness to them. I agree with the guy that said they are as hard as hardwood floors lol. I’m a scratch and it was very hard to get my ball to check because of how hard the greens were. Its kinda ridiculous. Also the fairways need to be grown out. Very thin. Felt like I was hitting off dirt. It’s an ok course but greens, fairways and bunkers need work. Not worth the price. Best part of this course is the tee boxes.
