About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Course good.....traps awful
Course was in great shape. Fairways & Greens. However, the traps were dirt. Pretty sad. Besides that, I have always been a fan of the course, staff, and layout.

Picturesque Challenging Course
Mark and Lewis made playing this course even better.
Sometimes you get paired with the most amazing people. Pace of play could have been better yet weekends are always busy . The course was extremely dry which made the greens fast and unpredictable. Staff very nice. Price reasonable

Great track but very poor condition
We really like this tract. However, we played a 5 1/2 hour round yesterday for $55 and tax when realistically it should have cost $30. They're either short-staffed or don't have a good watering system, as the course was very dry, thin fairways, slightly burnt greens. We waited on every shot except 3 (really), and 2 holes had 5 groups on them at the same time (green, fairway, and 3 on the tee box). It had a nice gentleman driving around thanking us for playing, but I'm guessing he wasn't a marshal, or the course was so packed that nothing could be sped up. Weekday rates and discounts are excellent, but the weekend rate is not cool.

Ridiculous all around
I asked what the green fees were to walk 18 holes during the week. Dude said it’s $50, He continued to tell me it’s the same price and that the course doesn’t offer a walking rate. WHAT A JOKE!!

Poor Pace of Play
Will never play here again. Tee time was at 5:00 and we didn’t even get through 9 holes before dark. Way too many tee times.

Nice Comeback
Course has REALLY come back nicely from last year. Greens are SO GOOD (firm and fast). Staff is OUTSTANDING!

Remains The best bang for your buck
Played a few other courses around DFW recently in the same price range and Whitestone has the best course conditions. Greens roll true, they’ve recently updated their drink offerings, and I saw the cart girl 3 times during my round. After playing elsewhere, I won’t take Whitestone for granted.

Spring cleanup
We and about all the other golfers in the area all converged at Whitestone for the nicest weather day we've had all year. It was a 5 hour round, but really only backed up at the par 5's. The greens were recently thatched so we had that to deal with too. Just glad to be out playing!
