About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Challenging course. The addition of wind and the lack of recent rains made the fairways and greens hard & fast. Mother nature can sometimes make a golf course extremely difficult to negotiate, which was my experience at Whitestone. Not taking away from the great lay-out, I would probably not play again until spring rains would bring more player friendly fairways & greens.

Great Course tough greens
The course is in great condition including the greens. The greens were very fast and were quite the challenge which I enjoy. Overall staff was friendly and the course was great, but was a little slow but I expected that on a weekend.

pace of play
There were NO marshals to speed up play. We (2) had a group of 5 in front of us. We were able to get around them at the turn only to find a pare that waited until the flight ahead of them was on off green before they would tee off. It made for a very very looooong and hot day. 3 1/2 hr play time turned into a 5 hr play time. I will recommend this course if they have marshals on the course.

Man those greens are tough!
The course is in great shape for October in Texas.
They are keeping the greens really fast coupled with tough pin positions. Bring your A-game!

Great as always
This course is always in great shape. The staff is friendly and it’s just always great time playing here. It’s long enough to be challenging but the ESS are great for my wife.

Slow
We started regularly playing this course again because they are working to improve it. We stopped after 3 rounds at 4.5-5+ hour rounds. The course was not near as packed as it had been before and we still played a 4.5 hour round. Takes more than clocks on the course to speed up play. The group ahead of us was more than a hole behind after 9. When they teed off on 10, no one was even on the par 5 in front of them; and no one came out to say anything. and no marshall. We teed off at 2:20pm. Toooooo slow.

Great Course
Great course as always. Pace of play has been brutal in the past but was fantastic today. Great customer service all the way around. Love the unlimited range balls, bottled water, tees & towels in the carts.
Tee boxes, fairways & greens were top notch. Traps needed a little sand but avoid & you are golden.
Overall a very good course!

Great venue
Course in great shape. Only issue all day was one of the carts died on us at hole 6. Placed a call was put on hold immediately 5 minutes later get an answer. I tell them we have a dead cart will be at Hole 7. Cart never came
Pushed it with the other cart through to the turn. Walked to club house to tell them cart was dead.

Rain Day
It was coming down pretty good when I arrived at the course. After the Starter went to verify the conditions , he let us tee off. He checked on us on the 6th fairway to let us know another band of storm clouds was coming . It unleashed a huge amount of rain the made finishing impossible.
Other than that, it was a good experience. Will definitely be returning to play again after being treated so well by the young man in the pro shop!

Great !
We use to play this course when it first opened and made it one of our go to courses because we love the track. We played a few years ago and it was in terrible shape. On 9/5/2020 I found a good price on GOLF NOW let me say this course has turned around under new ownership the greens were in perfect condition and tee boxes great. The only gripe I have is the bunkers not a fan of these kind. We enjoyed playing this course again so we will our back on our favorite list

Very nice course for the price
Course is in good shape and has a very nice layout. Greens are fast. My daughter and I really enjoyed playing here. It was our first time, and the golf experience for the rice is well worth it. We look forward to playing this course again.
