About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Too much construction
Overall I remember liking this course more. But it was very spread out, the cart paths are very far from the greens. The greens were very fast, even the fairways were mowed very short. There is so much construction going on, that it created a ton of mud, couldn't keep the ball clean.

Stolen Clubs at the Bag Drop and No empathy from Management
I have played this course many times over the last few years, but I will not be going back and I will be informing everyone I know to reconsider this as a choice. We left our bags at the bag drop and went inside to pay and get a drink before heading out. We come out and only one bag is sitting there....we look and the cart boys look, but no one finds anything. The manager says two words to us jumps on a cart acting like he's doing something and we never see him again. Luckily, the kid at the pro shop register had to ask if I could get rentals for free.. when we get back to the clubhouse the manager is gone no one knows anything and its a big sorry man..
We ask the cart boys again and one of them had something click and says "I know who it was!," and said some guy was asking weird questions in the pro shop and asking for a map and just left awkwardly goes outside looks at the two bags and just puts one (my bag) in his passenger seat and drives off. Ok now we're getting somewhere.
I call up there next day (today 11/28) and spoke to a grown man this time in the Pro Shop and he could care less. All he said was "You'll have to call the police and file a report and they can take it from there and we will help but that's all we can do. The cameras are to protect our equipment and our staff and the Bag Drop area is still your responsibility." I wasn't asking for compensation, but dang if you can't even guarantee the safety of the bag drop why on earth would any one go there? Why do you even have a designated bag drop area in the first place?!
It wasn't a cart boy, staff, other golfer.. it was a drifter who rolled up and scoped the area out and took my bag then went on down the highway and all the golf course management does is shrug their shoulders... unreal. Customer service level if anything goes wrong here is non-existent to say the least. I've managed a hospitality type business before and customer service is everything. I'm reaching out to that customer and trying to offer any sort of rectification I can. Apologizing profusely and definitely putting cameras at the bag drop. I'm definitely not saying sorry man call the police.

Course was in great shape. Very score-able if you keep your drive in the fairway. But you better have your putting ‘A’ game, greens were super fast.

Noticed Improvements
Been playing this course off and on since 2012 and this past outing could see some of the efforts being put in towards overall enjoyment of the round. Installed new clocks throughout the course to help with keep groups on time, little landscaped areas near tees or along path, most of the all the greens were at an amazing condition of soft enough to accept shots, even poor strikes, but very quick and not just the downhill putts. Kudos to the staff and keep up the good work.

Fantastic
Go play this course. This course is everything you could want. Fun, fair,, challenging, and the conditions were perfect. Greens are very fast but accept shots well. The course was not dried out like the other courses in Texas. I’m from PA. 50 some dollars on a weekend is a great deal too.

SHARPEN YOUR PUTTING SKILLS
Tee to green there isn't much that is flat which was fun. Those fast and rolling greens tore up my score, but it was a great challenge. You will enjoy this course.
