About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Great course
I am a intermittent player who only plays about 4 times a year so I enjoyed the openness of this course. The scenery was very nice and the fairways were excellent. The greens were a little dry, but nothing that interferes with our game. I would definitely go back and so would my dad and brother who also played this day!

Bunkers much improved!
I played here a few months ago and enjoyed almost everything about this course. Unfortunately at that time the sand traps were a total disaster ! Playing today, I was very encouraged to see almost all the bunkers had been repaired and filled with nice-playing sand. Pace of play was great and all the employees I encountered were very helpful and friendly! It is a great layout and the condition of the fairways, tee boxes, and greens were all excellent! The views from the higher elevations are nothing short of breath taking! The refreshments were all excellent and extremely affordable! Had a wonderful morning playing and will be back for sure!

What a difference 2-3 years makes...
If you had asked me to play Whitestone 2-3 years ago, I would have laughed and hung up on you... Read recent reviews and thought I'd revisit the place -- and WOW!!! Tee boxes, fairways, greens, and the rough are amazingly green, lush, and well manicured for a muni. Some semi-private and private clubs aren't as nice as Whitestone right now (July 2019). The pro shop is a bit dated, but I don't really need that anyway...itger than to check-in and pay. The staff is very personable and I was asked a couple times how I was doing and if I needed anything. Sure there are a couple bunkers that could use some work (rocks in them...), but I won't let that overshadow all of the other positives about this course right now. Hope they keep it up! Give "THE STONE" a look...again...

Great round, didn't wait and wasn't pushed. Some of the traps need repair but then again this is Texas. Play here and enjoy the staff, the views, and the course.

What a difference
Had not played this course in several years...after reading some of the recent reviews, decided to give this a try. What a difference! Current conditions and the layout make this course a hidden gem and a great value. There are a couple of holes that have some suspect design, but the condition of the course is very good currently. The pro shop is really, really sub-par but you could say that about a lot of DFW courses. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative comment is the first hole...nobody should EVER design a golf course with a first hole that starts directly into the morning sun. My suggesion...flip the nines and start on #10.

Very nice course
Played Whitestone about 3 yrs ago. Wow, what a difference three years makes. Course was in excellent condition. Very nice tee boxes and great fairways. Greens were in very good shape and were consistent in how they ran. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Nice practice area and driving range. Play a lot of courses in Ft. Worth area. Whitestone has moved to near the top of my list. Will definitely return real soon.

Course was in excellent shape: greens and fairways were in very good condition; all but 2 holes had bunkers with new sand; pace of play was outstanding; would highly recommend this course, especially when using hot deals available on Golfpass.

I was invited to play here by a friend. Since I had not previously played this track, I looked at the reviews. They seemed fairly negative. What I found was a very nice place. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Perhaps, the management has put in a lot of work to the place, because I didn’t see much to complain about. I would like to play there again.

Nice layout, friendly staff
Really cool layout and mix of holes, staff and cart girl Megan were great, new bunkers on front nine were nice and overall course conditions were good; back nine bunkers obviously not finished yet and a new clubhouse is badly needed. I’d definitely play often if I lived closer - some small changes away from being a great public course

Great Time!
The staff is always friendly and Especially Bo was great! The pace of play was a tad bit slow but we were playing on a Saturday so was to be expected. Was by myself and picked up 3 more guys along the way and everyone on this course seems to be good people to play with. Would recommend this course to all.

Most friendly and accommodating. Course was a little rough in areas but it is early spring.
