Eagle Lakes Golf Club

About
Eagle Lakes Golf Club is situated just minutes from Olde Naples and Marco Island. It lives up to its name, providing a round of golf accompanied by a pair of bald eagles that call this stretch of the Everglades home, along with an abundance of other wildlife. The course design represents classic Florida golf tradition. There is no shortage of water anywhere on this golf course, it comes into play in one form or another on every hole. They may all have water but that might be the only common characteristic they have. Every hole presents a unique challenge. The golf course is wide-open, which also makes it subject to the prevailing winds. Eagle Lakes Golf Club's final hole is a lengthy par 5 with water surrounding the fairway and all along the left side.

How many club lengths should be taken? Photo submitted by Johnflexton2624 on 11/10/2012
Beware of price scam - via Golf Now or online via Website or credit card or cash
Actually played the course twice in a week - both times the price changed to a higher quoted price via either Golf Now or through their Website. We were charged extra for paying via credit card (2.5%) and there was some type of extra fee ($3 to $5) for something they could not explain clearly...but...from what we understood, it was simply a few dollars tacked on above the posted price. When I paid cash for a round that was on their Website for $99, I was told the fee was $104 for some reason and they would not do the $99 rate. This is a deceptive practice and I consider it a scam that just puts a nice weekly sum into their pockets. Will NOT return and will advise all our buds to avoid.
Nice course layout good condition
Solid layout -:plenty of challenge, not many bunkers but strategically placed water Greens decent. Overall a good value for the money
Eagles Lakes = lots of water
Decent course but priced a bit high - should be no more than $75 compared to other much better courses in area.
Great time
Have been coming to southwest Florida about 10-15 years in January . Always loved playing Eagle lakes . Very much improved this year . Great staff . Great pro team .
Fun course
Above average difficulty if you spray the ball. I started and finished with same ball. Play correct tee boxes for your level, don’t pull the ball. Most water is left off the tee. Much improved course from past years. Very nice club house
Hidden Gem
Eagle Lakes was my 'adopted home course' for my 3 week stay in Naples; played it 9 times...1st rate facility...Frankie and the Boys greet you at the circle and take your bags out of your vehicle then load them onto the carts. Head to the Pro shop to check-in/pay...Pro Shop staff were always friendly. Next stop the Starter; all friendly and easy to work with...showed up early and tee'd off early everytime...
Pace of Play...longest round was 4 hrs 5 min...shortest was 3,5 hours...please include wth those times taking gator pics and the beverage Cart gal Jenny...who saw you twice on the front and twice on the back 9. The tee box markers were moved everyday and the holes were also moved daily. Greens were true without much break; even across the grain...putting speed was the key...Tee boxes were not 'scarred-up'...fairways were also in great shape. There are two greens still with sand on them but the pins were far from the 'healing area'
When your round is over; head to the bar and see Jamie...happy hour 3-5 daily
Overall experience...was EXCELLENT...GOLF has a a price point and the quality-value at Eagle Lakes is far better then other area courses...There you have it...as Promised
Was expecting better conditions after supposedly redoing the course this summer
I had not played Eagle Lakes in three or four years because of how over priced it was and how horrible the conditions were. Then I had heard that they redid the fairways and tees this summer so I found a decent price of $60 on golf now and figured I would give it a try again. It is definitely in better condition than before which isn’t saying much because of how bad it was. However, there were still burnt out areas in the fairways and on most of the greens. The areas of the fairways that were not burnt out or dead were decent but I can’t help but wonder if they in fact just redid all the fairways why were there any dead and burnt out areas at all? I’m thinking it must just come down to a lack of maintenance. I certainly hope they don’t let it get as bad as it was before and instead figure out a way to get it to a level that justifies the ridiculous regular prices they charge.
Don't Go Here
Not really sure what to say. This course was in poor condition, greens sucked, fairways were terrible. Pace of play atrocious.
ALSO. DO NOT PLAY HERE IF YOU ARE YOUNGER THAN 30!!!! The staff had zero respect for me and my friend who are younger than their average age of 75. Treated us as if we had never picked up a club before. I've been playing golf for 15 years and been around more prestigious places than this. I know etiquette. They cherish their $12 course and clubhouse as if it were Augusta National. Cart guy was extremely condescending when my friend thought our tee time was 4 minutes earlier than it was, because he assumed we were late
And we didn't even tee off until 10 minutes past our set tee time. Was scolded twice by different starters for minor things, such as moving the cart up before being told the layout of the course (like I won't figure that out when I play. Though I appreciate the gesture, the delivery was disrespectful). Second starter tells me not to hit a second ball off the first tee, even though it's a provisional. Overall they think of young people as ignorant in this "Prestigious Course" bc they worship it like a PGA course. Don't go here if you want to be respected for paying money at a course.
Otherwise, amazing place !!!!!
Was great for the only 5 holes we golfed
We had a later tee time due to last minute booking. We paid to play 18 holes and knew we would not make it all the way through in 2.5 hours but would not have imagined we would only make it to the 6th hole. Groups ahead of us were the hold up and in my opinion someone should have had them fall back and let other faster moving people ahead of them. We spent over an hour of our time just sitting waiting to tee off. Never experience anything like it. The course was beautiful at least the 5 holes we saw and lots of wildlife. Staff friendly. I wouldn’t recommend later tee time since if you get stuck like us you won’t get far through.
