The Resort Golf Club
About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Staff needs training in customer service
The course was challenging but we enjoyed the round. The layout on the back nine was a little tight as the holes were virtually parallel to one another. It took us a little under 4.5 hours to finish. My one grievance was with the staff. They were rude, not welcoming AT ALL! They acted like it was a privilege to play here. Just a reminder, WE keep you in business. It's a shame, because I enjoyed the course but I promise I will not back.
dont bother
Fairways in decent shape, but that is where it ends. Tee boxes so hard l had to hammer in my tee on a par 3 hole to get the tee down low enough. Greens were totally brown and full of drainage holes. The greens were what you may expect for October after a hot dry summer. Course layout horrible, had trouble finding tee box for hole 6, never did find box for hole 15 gave up and left. No hole layout on signs so you dont know where hazzards are located. Worst course l ever played, pretty bad for a private course that wants to sell memberships.
Great layout
Great track with lots of blind shots and narrow fairways. The green on some holes could really use some love. I played for $28 on Monday morning and played a 3 hours round so that was a big plus. Located inside a gated community with lots of constructions/house building going on right next to you, literally.

challenging course design. back nine to many parallel holes.
Go play this course
This course is a nice track. It has several challenging drives and is in overall good condition. I played it in the beginning of April which in the DFW area can be tenuous, but give it a month and I bet all things will be great. Nice layout, again some drives where accuracy is needed and mostly small and challenging greens. For the money, worth the inconvenient drive. I would recommend players play this course.
No starter
The course was busy enough to have a starter. The first tee is a long way from clubhouse and no starter. We were informed that they were running on time and proceeded to the first tee five minutes before our time. We were forth group at the tee. We sorted out time except for the twosome that didn't have a tee time but a friend/ brother in pro shop told just to go . We were almost fifteen minutes late teeing off. The couse has yet to start growing and is without any green grass at this time. Staff were friendly. Bunkers appeared to have last been maintained last fall.
Great course
Really liked this course. Great condition for this time of year. Was a pretty difficult course, lots of bunkers and water, but I liked the challenge. Green were a little hard, but in good condition. Will definitely be playing there again.
This is a challange course
course has sand traps by every green and has a lot of water hazards

The only part of this course that is not done well is hole 11-12-13-14 where tee boxes and green converge in a very tight sometimes dangerous position due to flying golf balls. If not for the tightness in this area this would be a very good course.
Could be so much better...
This golf course has a nice variety of holes and COULD be a very good golf course. Unfortunately, the course conditioning holds it back. I play here a couple of times a year, hoping that the course conditions will improve as the course matures, but it just doesn't seem to be happening.
Part of the problem with my most recent visit could be attributed to the time of year as most courses are coming out of winter currently and the grasses are still dormant. But, it seems that every time I play here, the ground is rock hard and if you stray off the fairways, the grass is pretty sparse. Downhill putts this time of year are next to impossible.
It's kind of disappointing as my wife and I are looking for an area and home to retire in and we like the layout and amenities that The Resort has to offer. But due to the golf course conditions, this is not a golf course I would enjoy playing on a frequent basis, so it's not a likely retirement destination for us. I didn't find the staff in the pro shop to be very welcoming either.

Good course, excellent staff, very good experience. Very enjoyable day
Resort NEEDS professional management
staff grossly overbooked the course for the day. staff would not offer any solution to sending at least two 6-somes out off of the front back to back. staff was extremely rude and inexperienced. horrible experience left before i could even get on the turn.
This is a challenging, fun course to play...
The course is great to play... It has relatively tight fairways, and water hazards to overcome on half the hole... The course is in great shape, with the traps well maintained, the greens moderately fast and in great shape... Lots of trees that will make this course even tougher as the trees grow and mature... Overall a great course that is relatively difficult....
Course was good
The inly issue I had was on the back nine on hole 11,12, 13 &14 it really slowed and golf were coming at you from all directions.
The course is a great place to play golf
Everything was absolutely great except my golfing ability. I will return
Bring your A game, if played from the tips
One of the few public courses in the area that actually has sand in the sand traps, a strange but welcomed thing. The greens had to be running well over 11. With all the rain we have had lately the holes with water actually had water and played like they were meant to be. I shot a 89 (took 39 putts-told you) and normally shot in low 80s here.
Short but tough layout.
We enjoyed playing this course. The course would be considered short to most but the layout made it challenging. The staff was friendly and our overall expeirence was great.
Average
Title really says it all. It's just ok. If you playing the whites it nothing special. One hole for blues is a island tee box.
Great course and variety
Loved playing here. Lots of nice houses to see on the way. Some very hard holes, and greens. The green on 16 was incredibly hard for beginner level, several degree decline across the whole green. It is also seperated from the fairway by about 15 - 20 yards of water.
It should be noted that I have only played at one other course, this was so much better and about half the price (the other course was in a different city though).
Great course
Great course. Range use and cart included with green fee. I did 18 holes in 3 hours solo. Greens are fast and challenging. Course conditions are excellent. Very good experience. Would highly recommend. Its on the north east side of eagle mountain lake. Fossil creek always busy so I will go here as im in the saginaw area.
