Challenging par-3, #8 Photo submitted by ConnieBlack on 05/26/2014
Great Course
Had a great time with some buddies on my first round out there. Everything was top notch and the course was a perfect blend of challenging and attackable. We will definitely be back soon!
A little overpriced for course conditions
Cart path only since the hurricane. Lots of fairways still in poor condition. I would think they could discount the green fee until conditions improve.
This place is the hidden gem of south Texas
First time to play this coarse. To start the guys in the pro shop were up front and honest. Told us they are recovering from storm damage and the fairways have some bald spots. It was. Cart path only so play was a little slow but we still turned it in 4 1/2 hours. Greens are fast but will hold mid iron shots. These greens have more break than any in Houston in my opinion. This place just turned into my new favorite. Can’t wait to play iit again. If you can’t keep it in the fairway off the tee you will struggle. Worth the drive for sure
Course will be great!
Even with extensive damage from the hurricane and recovery will underway, the course is in decent shape and has a wonderful track. Once fully recovered, it's sure to be an amazing course.
Well kept and challenging course
The course was beautiful and well kept. It was quite challenging and enjoyable to play. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Nice course, but...
Really nice course but the mosquito infestation is absolutely ridiculous. This was my first time ever playing this course so it may not be like this all the time. I've lived in Louisiana and Texas for over 40 years and have never experienced anything even close to this. Almost quit multiple times because of it. Other than that, great course!
Wilderness a hidden Jem
I’ve played this course in the past and it seems it’s gets more beautiful every time. The fairways are blush and the greens are running about 9-10 nice and smooth. The bunkers have soft sand and easy to get out of.
The staff is friendly and warm . They welcomed us and made us feel like we were family.
The starter yesterday on fathers’s day was the most the most friendliest and compassionate man I’ve had the pleasure of laughing with…. Great course and will continue to recommend it to as many friends as I know…
Thank you

Consistently excellent
Wilderness never disappoints. Course is always in great condition. Greens are In great condition. Friendly staff as always. Over and above worth the price on either a hot deal from golf now or an afternoon tee time straight from the pro shop. I am a 4 times or more a month golfer and wilderness is always one of our group's preferred locations.
OMG the MOSQUITOES !!!
Course was great as usual, but mosquitoes
made it almost unplayable. Went through 2 cans of spray. Management, please try to do something as it really takes away from the experience.
Thank you for your feedback! We understand your concerns regarding the Cart Path Only conditions. Unfortunately, the fairways suffered significant damage from Hurricane Beryl, as the course held water for over 10 days. We’re pleased to share that the course has drastically improved, and we have reopened hole #9 as a par 4.
To accommodate our golfers during this time, we offered a discount for the first month after reopening and provided bounce-back cards to customers who paid during this period. If you didn’t receive any of these offerings, please reach out to me at molvera@kempersports.com, and I’ll be happy to assist you.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back soon!
