Had a good time. Wish I could have finished but rain ended the day for me

Course conditions were fair. Greens excellent but traps were unplayable. Fairways improved from last time I played, but still average. Inconvenient to have to use the bag drop, as they won’t let you take carts to your car. Pace of play was very good.

Houston National Golf Course has some terrible new rules. There are no carts allowed in the parking lot, but there’s no efficient bag drop-off system. Six or eighteen holes are permanently designated as cart-only paths, which is illogical. The electronic fences for carts aren’t programmed correctly, causing the carts to shut off frequently while on the cart paths. The course has improved significantly and is in good condition, but I’m not willing to deal with these new rules. There are many other golf courses in Houston that offer a better experience.

Played this course thinking the price paid would reflect the facility and the course condition. Hundreds of ant mounds everywhere on every hole, tons of sand spots that are not bunkers but just not kept up. Mediocre facility and the food, you would be better off bringing a sandwich form two days ago

Been playing here several times, first time I notice a number of the fairways being in less than good shape, a lot of weeds and rough patches.

Ended up playing behind a 5 ball which meant we had to wait on every hole for every shot. Surprised there wasn't a starter nor marshal on a Memorial day when it was busy.

We played Houston National yesterday and it was a great round. The pro shop staff was very friendly and helpful.

We tied off before our scheduled tee time and played at a great pace.

The greens were in fantastic shape. Fairways in good shape.

Great value and the fees included lunch and a drink.

Really nice course design, but the condition was awful. Fairways taken over by weeds and lots of bare patches. Bunkers not raked, albeit there was rain overnight, but still could have easily been maintained by the green keepers. Greens ok, but quite a few damaged areas. I won’t be back and not worth the $80 I paid

Greens are in good condition. 17 and 18 are unusual holes that you need to study to understand. Overall a fun good value course. Not walkable.

Staff was great! Geofencing golf carts is annoying! Course condition is ok. Not worth $90

I liked everything about this course. Previous negative reviews about water on course was after it rained 5” in a few days in Houston, every course was under water…come on.

Course is links style with great layout but plays a bit more narrower because of ditches and elevated mounds along fairways, so keeping it in the fairway is key. I’m not a long hitter, but the white tees even allowed me to cut the corners and have some fun being aggressive on a couple holes! There are some cart paths where they shouldn’t be, but you can’t help that with the mounds blocking access to fairways from cart paths. Bunkers seem to have great sand, maybe even had been recently added to some. Greens were as good as it gets in Houston, seriously they were way better than most courses.

Bar was a great plus too. Right by driving range so you can sit there and have a drink and food and watch the action and surroundings. And Adam tending bar was awesome.

Price is what you’d expect for this level of course and is about the same with others in areas.

Only negative is that I live an hour away! But I play all over Houston and the drive will be worth it to go back from time to time.
