WestRidge Golf Course
About
WestRidge Golf Course is a unique Jeff Brauer design that features a user-friendly layout. The design tips out at a standard-looking 7,041 yards, however its combination of six par 3s (none over water), six par 4s, and six par 5s is far from normal. Brauer incorporated deep bunkers, natural areas, and lakes to accompany the huge, undulating greens that await hacks who become lazy after getting home in regulation. Other than the unique hole combination, WestRidge Golf Course's drive-able par 4s (nos. 1 and 13) are notable during the summer months because they play downwind and are good birdie opportunities.

Solid for this time of year
Grass is dormant, so not much to say about fairways/rough. Greens rolled well, avg speed. Range was in good shape. Pace of play was good although we were third or fourth group off. Bunkers were soft and well-maintained. Course is pretty wide open off the tee. Wind can make it challenging depending on the direction.
The course was in great shape
This is a nice course, the lay out is very interesting, six par 5's, six par 4's, and six par 3's. the par 5's seemed to all be really long, tough for a short ball hitter, I look forward to playing here again
One of a few local favorites
One fantastic thing about the DFW metroplex is the incredible number of courses to choose from, but if I ever had to settle for only 2-3 courses I had to play, Westridge would be on that list. Easy access in the northern part of the metroplex, great layout (6 holes each for pars 3-4-5), big open fairways but plenty of challenges with water and sand, excellent course maintenance, new golf carts that actually still have GPS, and so on.
Fun track
There is the usual winter dormant grass but the greens are excellent and the course has something for everyone. If you don't hit straight bring lots of balls.
Course was in good shape especially for this time of the year, Sunday pin placement made it challenging.
Good value for the money, course nice shape and pace of play was kept up by marshall.
Unusual with 6 par 5s
I have always played fast but yet have been pushed by the course when it was not necessary.
Too bad we won't be playing here again
We won't be playing this course again unless we have scheduled a later tee time. Not having the driving range open until 7:30 doesn't allow any warm up for those of us who have earlier tee times. The sun comes up at 6:30 now and there are no houses close to the range so there shouldn't be a noise factor. We've played this course for a number of years, but won't be doing so again.
This course is fun to play and provides challenging shots.
The greens are in excellent shape and roll very true. This is a good test of skills.
Fun to Play
Found this to be a challenging but not difficult course. It was extremely fun to play. Well maintained. Greens in great shape. Bunkers well maintained and consistent.
Overall a great golf value and centrally located if you live north of Plano. I would highly recommend this course and I will play again.
slow
Was just a bit slow....Got paired and wanted to play a two some...but it was a nice course
Fairly open and straightforward course with no serious hazzard whatsoever.
Should be a reasonable course for casual golf outing, but if you look for a challenging layout, this is not a course for you.
The hilly topography, makes the course challenging and fun.
The course appears to be very short, but there are a couple par fours that could be par fives. A lot of blind shots, so you have to work for your par. Very fun, and well maintained course. Great greens!
Great course, I really enjoyed the round.
I found the course to be challenging and in really good shape given the lack of rain this past summer. Nice practice facility and friendly staff.
Great fun course
This course is a lot of fun with 6 par 3, 6 par 4 and 6 par 5. The layout is challenging but fair. I always have a great time at Westridge.
Great Value in the DFW
The course is in great condition. I love the layout. This was my second round here, the first time back when it was cooler and we had a lot of rain. Good to see the same excellent conditions in the heat wave too.
well maintained, reat price
Booked round at the last minute and had no troubles geting in. Course was well maintained, and greens were very even when putting. No roblems at all outside of being behind a group which was playing a little slow, but after nine we passed them.
great value
Good for dry conditions
This course was in extremely good shape for the very dry conditions we have had. There is not a course in the area that has not dried out. West Ridge still had some good grass in the fair ways and the greens were fairly soft and receptive. That is hard to find right now.
Great shape for having no rain lately
Westridge is not showing drought stress like many courses around. The fairways have a decent grass cushion, and the greens are in very good shape. The rough is a true rough in most areas.
Great fairways..long challenging holes. sand is great, I've become a pro at hitting out of it. lol..
I love this course..staff is great...greens are a little hard to read. Well maintained. Sand traps are nice. Beautiful course.
Additional obstacles!
I am a fan of Westridge. I love the layout, and the fun times on this course. However, I do not like the fact that the last time I played on Aug 2, we had to avoid the maintenance crew and mowers on 4 holes. I understand Texas heat is not kind to a golf course. I understand you have to mow. But why on Earth would you schedule fairway mowing at the same time you have 4 groups playing through the back 9? I felt bad for two of the mowers as they were almost hit by approach shots. A note to management, please use a bit more common sense when scheduling mowing.
