About
WestRidge Golf Course is a unique Jeff Brauer design that features a user-friendly layout. The design tips out at a standard-looking 7,041 yards, however its combination of six par 3s (none over water), six par 4s, and six par 5s is far from normal. Brauer incorporated deep bunkers, natural areas, and lakes to accompany the huge, undulating greens that await hacks who become lazy after getting home in regulation. Other than the unique hole combination, WestRidge Golf Course's drive-able par 4s (nos. 1 and 13) are notable during the summer months because they play downwind and are good birdie opportunities.

Great fairways..long challenging holes. sand is great, I've become a pro at hitting out of it. lol..
I love this course..staff is great...greens are a little hard to read. Well maintained. Sand traps are nice. Beautiful course.
Additional obstacles!
I am a fan of Westridge. I love the layout, and the fun times on this course. However, I do not like the fact that the last time I played on Aug 2, we had to avoid the maintenance crew and mowers on 4 holes. I understand Texas heat is not kind to a golf course. I understand you have to mow. But why on Earth would you schedule fairway mowing at the same time you have 4 groups playing through the back 9? I felt bad for two of the mowers as they were almost hit by approach shots. A note to management, please use a bit more common sense when scheduling mowing.
Good layout.. Love the 6 par 3's, 4's,5's
Played on a Sunday morning. Pace of play was a little slow but the course was in good shape. Bunkers were recently updated; nice to play out of good sand. Fairways were in nice shape. Greens could have been a little better for the money. Will keep in the rotation of rounds.
great location with well designed layout (6) par 3's, par 4's, par 5's
very nice course with reasonably fast pace of play
Played Westridge for years, love it.
Westridge is a fun course, and doesn't challenge you too much. Been playing the course for almost 12 years now, and it hasn't changed much. They just finished the bunker restoration, and now the bunkers are nice and fluffy. The course layout is fun, but makes it a little too easy. Nonethless a fun time to go hang with friends, and just have a fun round. Greens were pretty soft and sandy today.(6/5/2013)
Probably a little expensive
I play Westridge a lot and I love the format. 6 par 3, 6 par 4, and 6 par 5 really gives you the chance to go low. They have a Few problems with the greens right now particularly on #7, but overall they roll nice and true. The course is a little pricey for what it is...65+ for green, cart, and 1 non alcoholic drink... I would gladly pay somewhere around 50 for this course, but at the current rate they are at least 3 courses close to Westridge that are cheaper and in better shape. Overall fun course
Some of the Greens need to be maintained and looked like patched scraps on the back of a broken pants.
In general, this is a fairly good course. Some holes are very challenging, except 3 Greens are like patched scraps on the back of broken pants.
Overall, good experience
This was my first time playng this course. The course itself is not difficult, setup very well for the average player. If you are an advanced player this is great course to practice, but will not provide a challenge. The staff in general was very friendly, but seemed understaff during peak times. The course was a good shape. The tee boxes and fairways were very well maintained. The bunkers were all new with fresh white sand, and also very well maintained. The only downside were the greens. Overall they rolled very true, but the maintanence left a little to be desired. Previous hole placements were not well maintained, which left some putts to bounce losing accuracy. With the recent amount of rain, I would imagine they will improve.
Good course that played fast on a Saturday morning.....
I played the course, for the second time, on Saturday, May 18th at 11:07 am. The foursome that I was in were treated well the staff and the course played moderately difficult. The course was well maintained and we paid a reasonable price to play. We were all surprised at how quickly we played the 18 holes on a Saturday morning which made the round even more enjoyable. Good course!
Good, not great
The course is close to my home and I enjoy the layout with 6 par 5 holes. The fairways are in good condition and the course staff is friendly. However, multiple greens need some serious work. They did not come back from the winter and with summer nearing, there might be some issues.
Get out early and you'll be done in under 4 hours. Overall, I enjoy the course. It needs some work to get the greens back, but it's close by and they count on that fact.
Big fairways in solid condition with reasonably fast greens
I went on a weekday in the early afternoon and there was very little crowd. Outside my group we saw no one else around us and were able to make excellent time. Nice course which is well maintained.
Good Course
Great Shape. Glad to see sand in the bunkers. Pace of play was great Driving range needs to open early on Tuesday and close on Monday morning like other courses in area.
Great course.
I was very pleased with the experience of Westridge from start to finish. The staff was very friendly and the course was in terrific shape. Greens are some of the best I have played in the area. All bunkers and traps are full of fluffy white sand and played true in the one I found. Love the layout. Variety is terrific. Great scoring chances with all the par 5s. I only have a mild issue with the $21 charge for a spectator. My wife joined me for this round and has accompanied me several times before at different courses. She doesn't play but its nice to share my two loves at one time. I had never been charged for her to simply ride along. I didnt mind paying. That said, it came across as mildly cheap considering that 10 mins before my tee time they called me back into the pro shop from the driving range to have me pay for her.
Great course, friendly staff and clean.
Overall, great experience. Coming from out of state, the grass is obviously different in Texas. Took some getting used to the "tight" fairway grass and a couple of damaged greens. Other than that, beautiful scenery, carts well maintained, fun course for the average golfer and wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed.
Great value, great place to work on all aspects of your game
Since I'm currently ~20+ handicapper even this moderate difficulty course can be a challenge :-), I can attest that I used every club in my bag except for a hybrid on this course. It was a first time on the course, but it definitely will not be the last. Fairways and greens were in good shape, There were a couple of pin placements that were tough and near the front on downhill slopes that got the group into putting trouble :-)
The staff was friendly, cart girls came around several times to offer beverages, and the facilities were in good shape.
The practice range has it all to work on your long/short game between rounds: long driving, chipping green, practice bunker, putting green
Great varity of holes. Very nice par 5's
Fun to play 6 -3's,4's,and 5's!! You don't get tired of the 3's and 5's ,but you seem to miss the normal amount of 4's. Will do this agin very soon
Well maintained, crowded, slow green
Well maintained course. Too many houses all over the course and those are not so nice scenery though. Little competition around the ares makes this place crowded. It took ~5 hours to complete a round. Fairways are fair. Green is green and Ok, but its speed is a little too slow for my taste. I had difficulty adjusting to its speed. Some greens have many subtle breaks that are not apparent.
