Spring Valley Golf and Disc Golf Club

I guess this course is under new management, so it is completely different than all apps suggest. While getting lost on the course management came over fussed at us and then didn’t help figure out where we were supposed to go.

I wouldn’t even call the greens greens because it was more like hitting from a fairway-ish with a putter.

The driving range restaurant is legit though!

4/5 if you’re a high handicapper, and let me tell you why.

I’ve played just about every public course in the North Houston area, and honestly, this place is hardly a golf course in its current condition. BUT regardless of the condition, I actually find it really enjoyable.

It’s a 9-hole course made up mostly of short par 3s and par 4s. You can play it back-to-back for 18 holes and easily finish in under 2.5 hours, which is honestly one of the things I like most about it.

If you’re a high handicapper, beginner, or just trying to work on your game, this course gives you a lot of opportunity to do that. It’s also a great place to introduce a friend or even a young player to golf without spending a ton of money.

The greens are basically nonexistent, so forget about putting. 😂 But honestly, that just means you get plenty of opportunities to practice your chipping and short game.

For the price, you could probably spend a little more and play River Plantation, but I still think this place is worth the money if you know what you’re getting into.

It also seems like they’re heading in the right direction. They recently got new GPS carts, although the GPS wasn’t integrated when I played.

Would I recommend it to someone looking for a pristine course with great greens? No.

Would I recommend it to a high handicapper looking for an inexpensive, laid-back place to get some practice in and have fun? Absolutely.

Even though gleanloch golf club pace sucks, you can still walk 18 at a junior rate for $19 and it’s only like $35-45 for adults on weekdays. This course is $25 for nine holes walking that are made of nothing but rocks. The greens are unplayable, the fairways need to be mowed, the workers hate their job. This course oust to be $12 to walk but now it’s $25 and why? The range is the only good part. The only good time to play this course would be the weekends when every other courses prices spike, but even still i’d rather pay more cause last time I was here I hated the experience. IM NOT coming back unless the lower their prices, and you should either.

the course is in extreemly poor condition. Greens have weeds and ant hills. The new design of the first two holes is really poor. When you get a rain the hogs tear up the grass/weeds. I often place my ball on a weed to simlulate hitting on grass. Hole 9 is only a temp hole.

The increase in green fess is unwarranted. I do play there and I enjoy playing when I have the course to myself. It allows me to look for the balls I hit into the brush .Very few golfer in the afternoon.

Spring Valley is a special course and not for serious golfers.

They have a top golf type range with tracman launch monitors. The range is good but the course needs a lot of work. It was like playing in a cow pasture. The greens were unplayable.

Looks like they are adding a lot of amenities but the course is really bad. Greens are very rough and tee boxes are real bad. Maybe a good course to take a brand new golfer to for training. Don’t expect much!

Hard to beat for $15 the greens could use a little upgrade but perfect place to practice tough shots

If you just feel like walking, getting in some exercise and being outside. You can get that here. Otherwise if youre expecting to play anything like an actual golf game id stay far away. I think it was the sixth hole? Couldnt remember. A par 3 with a tree just next to the left side of the green. Hit it to 15 feet. Could not even see the ball due to the grass being so deep. I cant really tell whats going on here. Poorly cut? Renovating holes? None of it really felt like golf. Im unsure how their revamp is supposed to change any of this from a golf perspective.

never left a golf course on 3rd hole before but when the greens are as long as the rough i didn’t even want to play anymore

Hole 1 was split in half to make 2 holes out of it. Greens were terrible, and some of the holes didn't even utilize the green area.

It looks like everything is on the works. The fairways ar so so, but the greens are practically non existent. Impossibe for putting, the grass is so large and uneven that expect 3 putting strokes at least

Some of the greens, were cut like fringes. They moved a couple of holes off the green and onto the fairway, maybe to air the greens out, not sure. Fairways full of weeds. Poorly maintained course.

The course redesign is happening and the future looks good to me. They are adding an irrigation system, new greens, a driving range as well as pickle ball courts. It’ll be great soon.

I know that the course is being upgraded, and I am hopeful that after all the upgrades the course heals up better than ever. I really love playing here.

The course is essentially a par 3. They are making it into an 18 hole course so I guess we will see how that turns out. Installing pickleball which looks extremely well done as well as their driving range. The course is better then what it was but still has a long ways to go to become “country club”. Also the grass on the greens is way too long.
