Stone River Golf Club
About
Previously known as Aaki Ranch International Golf Course, Stone River Golf Club is a basic, homemade 18-hole track that opened in 1997, featuring rolling Bermuda pastures, manmade lakes, and young trees. Playing only 6,487 yards from the tips with minimal trees lining the fairways, you’ll be able to swing hard and let it rip.
Getting there : From Dallas, head east on I-30 for about 25 miles to exit 77B (FM35). Turn right at the stop onto FM 35, then continue about 1 mile. Turn right onto FM 2453 and drive another .5 miles. The golf course is on your right

Course
Overall
Fairways- 4/10
Greens- 3/10
This course needs some help!!!
Great course, well maintained
Striped fairways, good grass on tee boxes, greens in great shape and would hold a good shot. It is a bit confusing going from hole to hole because there is a lack of signs telling you where to go. Other than that the course played great. Mix of different holes, shortish par 4s and par 5s kept it fun! Will be back
Great day at stone river
Great time at Stone River, pace of play was excellent, course was in great condition.
Very Disappointed.
No one at desk when I arrived. Waited at least 5 minutes before someone saw me. Got right on the course. I felt rushed the entire front nine because no grouping of people a twosome, a single,a single, a twosome. There was hardly any grass on fairways and huge cracks in the fairways. Several holes I had no idea where the fairway was no definition.
it is a goat farm. fairways was in horrible shape.
Fairway in bad shape. Overall surrounding is not pleasant. Just a goat farm
Pleasantly surprised
This was my first time playing here. My expectations for this course were exceeded. Staff was friendly, the course was a lot better maintained than I expected. Overall I liked it and will play here again.
Not bad for the money
A very easy course that is in OK condition. Greens are in decent shape with fairways being playable. Off the fairway is not in good shape, but that is to be expected with the drought conditions we are currently in.
Not crowded so pace of play was great.
The course was in good shape and pace of play was great. The greens were slower than expected and a little bumpy. The staff was friendly and it was definitely worth a hot deal price. I would go there again.
Love their course
I like Stone River because I can play it well! Greens are very well maintained and fairways are quite adequate. It is light on the sand and water (which I appreciate) and short enough to play in under 4 hours. And when done, You'll feel good about your game!
Enjoyed playing this course. It is forgiving in that the fairways are open and there's very little water.
This course needs some attention, especially on the back nine. The greens were fuzzy, even for bermuda, so putted really slow. With that said, we had a great time. We got a great price and so that made it worth the time. The other golfers were really layed-back--no one pushing you to move on. The satff was very friendly and helpful. This would not be my first choice to play again, but for the price, it was fine.
Country value
Average course, pretty wide open fairways, little hazards.
Greens aeratred but no sand on green to fill in the holes. Greens extremely slow & bumpy.
First time to play here & will not be going back any time soon. I can play better courses for less money.
The course is currently too dry, overpriced!
This course is not maintained well. We played early on Saturday morning, and all of the greens were extremely dry. It appeared none of the greens had been watered that morning. In addition, two fairways had dead grass throughout. Not worth 40 dollars to play a round of golf.
Wide open space allows the weekend golfers wayward shots to stay in play.
Very fun course. Front nine was in good shape however the back nine reminded you that you were playing in what used to be cattle pastures . Needs more green grass back there. The course as a whole needs better signage identifying the tee boxes and hole numbers. I will however be back to play and will refer friends to try out the course .
Fairly safe course with few hazards.
A bit of a drive from where I live, but a nice course to get away from the crowded city.
good pace of play
course itself is nothing fancy but my number one criteria in judging a course isalways pace of play with price being a close second. in these criteria it comes up great. pretty wide open but some holes are very challenging . length not a big concern. greens slow but in good condition. fairways pretty typical of these little country courses, mixture of grass, weeds, and fire ant mounds, and dry weather cracks, but playable . for the price about what you expect and overall a good value for the price.
This course has great features
Had a little difficluty enjoying the day because of the gusty winds. Nevertheless, The ball was rolling good on the greens. It may be worth mentioning that cart paths need attention. There are a few cart paths that leaves gaps that need to be joined. In other words, we had some rough paths to travel on (dirt or gravel paths) to get to the adjoining path.
Great value
The condition of the course was to be expected given the conditions in August in Texas with limited irrigation.
Not a bad practice course
This course is in fair condition for this time of year. It reminds me of a typical country course that needs more maintenance. Fairways very hard from lack of water, and greens will not hold good shots. You get what you pay for here, which is basic golf.
