Owner is a JERK!
Owner is a jerk. He was extremely rude and confrontational. Made our party feel unwelcomed.
Food is pathetic. Especially during holiday season/buffets.
Love this course!!
It's beautiful! I played it for the first time today and loved the course.
It is beautiful with the creek, rolling mounds, tall grasses, ponds, sands, and a lot of mowed grass!
Go! You won't regret it.
Rockwall Golf
This is a surprisingly challenging and interesting course to play. There are quite a few elevation changes, and some VERY nice holes on the back 9 by the water that make you feel like you are NOT playing golf in Texas.
Being by the lake, its windy, so some of the long holes play even longer, but the fairways are fairly wide and greens are on the large side.
Overall one of my new favorite courses in DFW, and seems to be off the beaten path because because the course has been wide open each time I played.
The Shores 2.0
New greens and added bunkers are not worth the price they charge. Upgraded the clubhouse, deck and pool area but the course layout hardly changed.
An average day at the old Shores
There's an obvious attempt at renovating Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club which should turn it back into a premier spot some day. At the moment, the course still plays very rough and there's little attention towards players on the course or in the clubhouse. For the money, a local golfer can get a better rate and a better course at a handful of places. I do wish this club the best and hope it returns to its former glory.
Greens in really good shape
Driving Range was mats only. Course was in good enough shape given the rain we've had. Greens were surprisingly good. A little slow but rolled true. As the area greens up, RAC should come in nicely. I'll play it again in the near future.
Marshal not enforcing course rules.
Five golfers were allowed to play 18 holes which it took for ever to finish a round. Brought my wife to the course hoping she would like it to join not after today.
Charles Taylor
Greens faster than lightning!!!!
Course was in good shape considering the weather. Tee boxes were okay. Fairways were nice. Rough wasn't too lengthy. GREENS were the fastest I've ever played on and I've played a few of the courses the pros play on! They were very smooth and a bit soft. Ball left a ball mark but somehow always rolled out atleast 15 feet and they were wet from the rain. Pin placements were Sunday position. Number two pin was middle left on a down slope and if you go past the hole even one foot it ends up 20 feet all the way down to the front of the green. I love the greens just not used to playing them so slick. Definitely worth the money if you get a tee time on Golfnow! Cart girl was really friendly too!
Fun course, don't mind the construction
There is quite a bit of construction going on right now, but it does not really interfere with parking or playing. So if your idea of golf is scenic beauty and quiet, maybe skip this for now. If you just want to get in a fun 18 holes, give this place a chance.
Greens rolled true. Friendly staff. Good food as well.
TOO MUCH
NOT A GREAT RATE FOR THAT TIME OF THE SEASON. TEE BOXES & GREENS IN GREAT SHAPE CONSIDERING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER . NO GRASS IN FAIRWAYS ( BUT SOMEWHAT NORMAL).
LIKE THE COURSE BUT NOT THE RATE AND FOOD/DRINKS VERY HIGH. 1 CAN SODA & 1 SM. GATORADE 5.00 BUCKS. WOW IM GLAD THE CART GIRL DIDNT COME OUT I WOULD HAVE FELT BAD IF I COULDNT HAVE GAVE HER A TIP. BY THE WAY COST WAS 56.25 EACH PLUS TAXES. THATS WITH AN 18% DISCOUNT. YOU DO THE MATH.
nice place
The blue tees are 6800+ is too long for me and my partner, we played the whites 6300+. Good elevation changes on the front nine, flat on the back since it is at the shoreline of the lake, so two different looks on this 18 hole course. Plan on going back with more friends
Great course
The course is in great shape. The pace of play was great especially for a holiday.
Great bar service
Was a very hot a humid day , with light wind that made it just bearable , greens were in pretty good shape but the fairways need a little work in some areas but overall in ok shape for Texas.
Much improved from "The Shores" days
Course is in much better condition from several years ago when it was "The Shores". Downside was the cost is a little high.
Great lay out. Needs work on the tee boxes and some greens
I haven't play this course since it was called The Shores. Love the lay out but tee boxes need more grass on them. The greens were sandy when played but they still roll pretty good. The 18th green however was a temp green. They're still renovating the clubhouse but it looks like it's going to be real nice. I'll come back when it's all finished.
Under construction
The overall area is nice. It's peaceful and not over run with hackers. However, not a golfers paradise. Greens are a but slow and fairways are not great. It's a cool layout and not and easy course but not maintained to its full potential in a strictly golf sense.
Rockwall
I can see what they're trying to do...friendly staff. Trying to spruce clubhouse, etc up. But the course needs TONS of work! I would give it another shot in a year or two. Not bad, just not worth the drive for me at this point.
Not worth the money
Played in a tournament here early in the summer and the course was not in good condition..greens were like beaches and just poorly kept. .the event coordinator even commented they will go elsewhere next year for the tournament. There are other courses within 20 miles that are better kept and we'll worth the money..most are the same or less price....I hope it changes it could be a Great course
Great Improvements
The new owners of this course have spent millions on the facility and you can sure tell!! I played this course when it was the shores and it doesnt even look like the same place..
Freeways are nice... greens are coming in great and the place is just great! !
Great new clibhpuse and a huge pavilion covered deck are just the icing on the cake!!
Great Job guys! !!
