Buffalo Creek Golf Club
About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Better than most
Played on a rainy Saturday morning. Finished as a single in 3.5hrs.
Course drains so well you could hardly tell it was wet in most areas. Course has greened up beautifully and is one of the better values in DFW. Staff was extremely friendly. Greens and fairways are immaculate. The golf course is in better shape than many of the private clubs in the area, will absolutely be back.
Amazing
One of the best public courses I have ever played especially after the week of rain we just got in Dallas, the greens played pure and fast and the fairways had zero dead spots or dirt patches. I would recommend this course to anyone it is well worth the price for how well the staff treats everyone and how they maintain the course.
Great Conditions
Course was in overall good shape. Bunkers still could use some attention, but overall a great experience.
Fun track, go play!
Very fun course. Conditions were good. Staff very friendly. A bit of an old school feel. There are a couple of tight holes but all in all a fair & fun course. Recommended play. Good value on the east side of town.
Love the Course!
It's been a while since I've played Buffalo Creek and enjoyed my round! It's a great course. It's consistently in good shape and the use of topography in course design is outstanding!
Great shape
Course was in really good shape and pace if play was perfect. Don't find these 2 things at most courses around here.
Great course/ Don't know If I'll come back
Beautiful course, probably the best driving range grass you will find in dfw to practice on,solid putting and chipping green, course is in great shape, people that work there are friendly, tough course with about 100 houses to hit so I wouldnt recommend if your just starting out, the thing that hurts this place is right at the beginning, they have a starter and he was very nice and friendly, and im sure the course wants him to get people out onto the course as fast as possible, my issue is you need to let people play and get ahead and don't let anyone go off early, espwcially.if the tee times are stacked on top off each other, felt very rushed all day because people were behind us all day standing around waiting to hit,and we were also waiting to hit ,just felt very rushed for a course at this price level, its a long drive for me and my buddy so not sure if we will come back anytime soon, might try it once more but if pace is the same we will go someplace else, if you live in the area of the course its definitely a beautiful golf course if you can deal with the pace
Nice Course
A little pricey. Pace of play could be better. Nice staff and course in good condition. Decent layout. Recommend to give it a try.
Hidden course
First time I’ve played Buffalo, this course is going to be mint come spring. A friend and I played with a single and he’s no stranger to courses across the nation, including major sites. We all said the same thing, grass is vital, but the layout was just an added bonus….not too treacherous and just an overall fun open course with some uphill climb. Staff was wonderful….this club is definitely something hidden in the Rockwall area worth playing! We will be back weekly. Cheers!
Poor Management
Pace of play is ridiculous. If you’re a member or know the Manager you can play has a 5some or 6some. I stopped playing here a couple months ago after a 5 hour round because there was a tensome who held up the whole course and no one did anything about it.
Come to find out nothing changed. Pro shop and marshals do nothing. After 4 hours on hold 12 (and 2 calls later) we had to leave. I went to the pro shop and Chris said “we can’t turn away a customer”. If you can’t enforce rules then THERE ARE NO RULES and you can do just do whatever you want. This place is a circus. No one cares and they’re running this place into the ground again
