Course is nice but over priced in my opinion. $72+tax for a Weekend round is the regular rate and that is a bit much . Golfnow hot rate is $69.50 after all the fees. One buddy got hurt the night before and he couldn’t even play still cost $69 bucks. I get it it hot deal, but not worthy $9 Saving for the risk, I wont use golf now again, just book straight with any course.

Love this course, great lay out and challenging, greens were not as fast usual but smooth

Course was in great shape. Scenic layout that is challenging but fair. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best courses in south Texas. Great layout and staff. It is worth the drive from San Antonio.

Unfortunately for us they had just punched and sanded the greens. But you can tell this place is well maintained. The course presented a good challenge but still was forgiving. The greens have so much character and we can’t wait to try them again in a month or so. Try this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

Golfnow should alert consumers of course maintenance

The course is in amazing shape in the middle of Texas summer. The staff is very friendly and professional. The price for this course is unbelievable! A course of this quality in San Antonio or Austin, would be triple the price!

Vaaler Creek is one of the best golf courses I’ve ever played. Every hole is very unique and the course is always in great condition. It’s about 40-45 miles from San Antonio and 100% worth the drive.

Our golf association has played Vaaler Creek 4 of the last 5 years. It is a fun layout with exceptional playing conditions in the winter and spring. It is the only golf venue in the region (Texas Hill Country) that overseeds Tees, Fairways, and Greens for the colder months. For the golfer, you will be hitting shots off fairways with lush green grass to greens that are covered with green grass that is smooth and will hold your shots. This is a true Hill Country layout, with elevation changes, running brooks, and wildlife roaming the course. The architect followed a minimalist design philosophy because the land provided all there was to build a competitive, fun golf course.

This is a fantastic hill country layout close enough to both Austin and San Antonio. Ive played several times over the last few years and the course conditions are always excellent, and the price is very reasonable. I would play here more often except it is a little over an hour drive from Austin.

After wanting to play this course for several years it did not disappoint. Got a great deal on GolfNow and drove the hour from my house in Kyle with great anticipation. Upon arrival the golf shop girl was very friendly and pointed me in the right directions for cold water, 1st tee, etc. The starter was also very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was good. I started out as a single but another single who teed off behind me joined up and then later we joined another single who teed off before me. So we had a leisurely threesome for the last few holes. A few of the tee boxes were a little rough and most were "domed" a bit, so getting a level stance was problematic at times. Hugh greens and in very good condition. GPS were on carts and made it easier for a first timer. Just one real negative, the location of the range. I'm sure this is out of necessity because of the layout of the neighborhood, but I saw signs pointing to the range but never actually saw it while driving the course and the grounds. So I can't review that amenity since I never visited it. Nice practice chipping and putting green though, right beside the golf shop. Very positive experience overall and will definitely return!

My foursome drove in from Austin and we were shocked to see the practice green covered with sand. There was no warning or indication on GolfNow that this was going to be an issue. We broached this issue with the gentleman that collected 60+ plus dollars from my brother ( the rest of us got a Hotdeal price of $40 ) and he couldn’t care less. It’s going to be some time before I ever consider playing this course again.
