About
Conveniently located near downtown San Antonio not too far from Austin, Vaaler Creek Golf Club has a memorable layout of gently rolling hills dotted with creeks, ponds and lakes. The course begins with a challenging front nine and then eases up a bit on the back nine, but overall it is a formidable test. The greens are tricky and demanding, especially on the front nine where there are some severe slopes and undulations. The back nine greens are a bit flatter but they still require careful attention. The rolling, contoured fairways are lined with trees and there are deep bunkers strategically guarding the greens, but luckily there are only seventeen of them. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are also several doglegs and blind shots if there wasn’t enough to keep you on your toes.

Always worth the drive
We drive 58 minutes to play this course and are never disappointed. We played another hill country course yesterday and it had a great lay out but was brown! This course is as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer and all the rain has left all the lakes full making it more beautiful than before. We had so much fun we are playing it again tomorrow.
Maintenance Man
The course is always in great condition, but we felt we were playing whack-a-mole. There was a maintenance worker driving a double blower going up and down the fairways in front of us while we were trying to hit tee shots. He never pulled over to the side to allow us to hit. He waved at us to hit while he was in our fairway. What made it worse, he was working holes in the same order we were playing, so we experienced this on three or four holes straight. If he had been working holes in reverse, we would have only seen him on one hole. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Vaaler Creek is a wonderful layout. Always in excellent condition. Adam, the pro and his staff are very professional and friendly. Everytime our group goes to Vaaler Creek, we have a fabulous experience.

Was a bit wet from 3 inches of rain the night before, but always in great shape. Fun and challenging course.
Great Golf Location
The Tee boxes were in good condition. The fairways were well defined and green. The rough was cut down so you could find your ball and hit out to the fairway. The greens were fast and true with some undulations.

Course was in outstanding condition...looked and played like PGA had set it up....love the improvements being done changing sand to water traps.
Love this course
Always a treat to play here! Driving range, chipping area and putting practice are are perfect! Course is a beautiful layout cut into the beautiful Texas Hill country! Food at the turn is incredible!! You must play this course if you are within an hour of it. It is worth the drive!!
Very Nice Hill Country Course
A very nice hill country course with very smooth greens. Stay in the fairway and you’ll be good, rough was tough. Played cart path only due to recent rain. Definitely a course to play.
Great Hill Country Course
Always a treat to play this course. It is a true Hill Country Course, cut into the hills with many twists and turns. Every hole different and challenging. Greens difficult but well maintained. Gets better every time we play it.
I play this course every week. It is one of my favorite courses. Everything is near perfect. Just one complaint. The tees need to be leveled.
One of the best courses in the hill country!
Can't say enough about this course, excellent condition, great staff and fun to play. Reasonable rates for a course of this caliber, fair to all levels of players if you select the correct tees yet very challenging from the back tees. Once again cannot say enough good things about this course and the staff.
