The Atchafalaya at Idlewild

The layout is amazing, as are the people you meet and the staff. The course was not the best I have ever seen it but with a strange wonter it's expected. All bunkers have been renovated, fairways are in great shape and they have unique tee markers. Only issue was some of the back tee boxes (tips) had no grass but they are in a location with a lot of shade so the cold killed the grass. One of the toughest golf courses in the state of Louisiana but if you play the correct tees it can be rewarding and fun. Recently did a video you can see on Facebook @GOLFNOLA.

Great course, fun by challenging. Work continues on the sand traps. Would be nice if players would rake the traps and repair both divots and ball marks on greens.

I find the restaurant is great, when open to the public. They close anytime there is a special event. Would like to see the restaurant open to the public when the course is open.

A great course that I play several times a year. Love the layout, greens are in good shape. My only issue is the abundance of sand in most of the bunkers,way too much powdery sand (noticed issue at several Audubon GT courses) . Otherwise I enjoy coming down here for the peaceful surroundings.

I'm sure at it's peak, the course was very nice. They do have condition issues on the greens and most of the bunkers are in such poor condition they cannot be played out of. They are repairing some at this time but still a long ways to go. Been playing here recently due to my home course being closed since Hurricane Ida. Layout is good and challenging. Hopefully, the grant money is put to good use. Finally, the carts available are all in very poor condition. A new fleet is really needed but I do understand how difficult it is to get carts right now.

Work on bunkers is nearing completion, Atchafalaya should be in great shape by the spring/summer! Best course layout in our area!

Golf carts are horrible. Our cart barely made it through the round. Was told there were no other carts. Seats have big holes in some carts. Better off walking with a pull cart. The day we played there was a group of six partying drunk golfers teeing off on every tee box ahead of us on the front nine. We skipped holes 7 and 8 to get in front of them. Then on. The 10th tee there were six more in that group. No Marshall or any control of number of players per group. On the back nine the bathrooms were locked on the course. Bad experience. Must be having funding issues with course.
