ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
THE GREENS ARE CRAB GRASS (50%) You would be better off paying $20 at another public course. This course will probably closed in two years. The ball bounces up and down when you putt.
If you like putting on crab grass
This course is going to crap. We played two holes and went home. The greens are in the worst shape you ever seen. There are $20 courses that have better greens in them this place. Either shut it down or fix the greens. It was embarrassment. After the day, I decided to join the form, tired of wasting money on courses like this
Horrible
Paid $50 on golfnow each. Was told there were no one in front of us. Not only there were groups in front, plus several others pass us up to jump in front. Greens Amare the worst I have ever played, completely unplayable . The only good thing I can say that I think the restaurant is nice. Left after 2 holes. Was told could not get refund because it was on golf now. Will reconsider when using golfnow.
Great course, Great Folks, Some rough greens.
This is the 3rd time I've played Atchafalaya and I'll keep visiting it every 6 months or so. A great track with an awesome layout. Only complaint I have is that the greens are a bit challenging with the poor grass condition, bare spots, and what appears to be weed infestation. A couple putts were going great until kicked off track by some weed nubs or dirt lumps. I was still able to break 100, so I'm not gonna complain too loudly, just sharing experience.
Greens are in TERRIBLE conditions
Greens in terrible condition
Could be a great course with a good layout, but conditions are quite terrible. It may be related to recent weather but I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon
Had a great day, no rain and dry conditions
The course is coming around after the hurricane season last year , starting to look great again.
A Fading Favorite: Great Design, Declining Conditions
This course has always had one of my favorite layouts to play—challenging yet fair, with a really enjoyable variety of holes. Unfortunately, the conditions have noticeably declined over the past year or two, and it's becoming harder to overlook.
The biggest issue right now is the greens. They're in rough shape—patchy, slow, and inconsistent—which really takes away from the overall experience. It’s disappointing, because this used to be a course known for being well-maintained across the board.
If the greens were brought back to form, this might honestly be the only course I'd want to play. The design is that good. But until then, it's tough to justify coming out as often. Hoping to see it bounce, because it deserves better.
Nice round
Course is in very good shape evev though some greens still need work. Pace of play was great until we ran into a sixsome on #14. Restaurant food was top notch! All in all, a very enjoyable round.
Some areas still need work
Good round played but some areas need work. Sand traps are not good and certain greens are still patchy. Must have been grass cutting day. We had tractors all around us.
Beauty, Birdies, and BEES!
If you’re looking for a golf course that literally buzzes with excitement, then welcome to nature’s finest ambush: Atchafalaya, where the fairways are lush, the greens are pristine, and the bees are… everywhere.
Let me start by saying: the course is stunning. Lush trees, perfectly trimmed grass, scenic water features — it looks like Augusta had a baby with a National Geographic spread. But then… the bees showed up. Not just a couple. No, this was Bee-topia. A full-on Buzzfeed Live experience. Hole 3? Bee swarm. Hole 7? Bee rave. By hole 12 I was no longer golfing — I was just running from cloud to cloud like a terrified Disney princess without animal control.
At one point I tried to chip onto the green, only to realize it was covered in bees. My buddy asked if I was going for par — I told him I was going for pardon me while I flee for my life.
On the plus side, I now have tremendous cardio and a newfound respect for bees’ interest in Callaway balls.
Great course layout with some challenging holes.
Love this course always have. Course on the most part is in good shape but a few of the greens are in needs of repair. A few greens had some dead/sandy areas
Greens need work
Off course amenities was non existent due to some sort of renovation going on. No pro shop as well due to the renovations. With that said, course was in fair shape but greens still need a lot of attention. There is some improvement from the last time I played here though.
Greens need some love
Course layout great but greens were patchy and a few had grass eaten away to the dirt and should have been unplayable - staff was friendly! Course was a great layout and enjoyed scenery for my 1st round - would go back if greens are better - bad greens for an hour drive - greens were super slow
Hope by summer greens are better and they still have good deals -
Needs a little love
This has to be one of the best layouts in Louisiana!! Could be an absolutely stunning course, packed with players daily but unfortunately there are too many obstacles preventing this course from being a 10☆ course!! Course is owned by the parish but land owned by another company, which has caused the course to fall apart due to conflicts of the needs of the course over a power driven land boss....truly sad! greens need some loving but the layout is 2nd to none... Parish needs to allocate some funds from the campgrounds towards the course and it could be the course it once was.
