The Atchafalaya at Idlewild

The course was in pretty good shape. A couple of the greens weren’t up to par. And some of the sand traps needed some work. Other than that I thought it was pretty good. I’m planning to play here again while I’m here.

Another great round at a top notch course. Staff is always so professional. Course in awesome shape.

My girlfriend and I scored a hot deal for Atchafalaya a few months ago and we’ve been in love with it ever since. The greens are fabulous and, even with all of the rain we’ve gotten, the course has held up nicely. All but four of the holes were 90 degrees, and it was still pretty firm on those holes except for a few spots. If I had to gripe about something, it would be a few of the bunkers but that’s just nitpicking. Everyone in the clubhouse is great and the food is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s well worth the hour drive for us.

Great course layout and course conditions were excellent for the past few days of rain! A must play course for anywhere USA!!

Played on Christmas Eve - a few wet holes because of the rain they have had but overall a great day of golf ! Even saw a few gators in Dec. Greens still fast and true - pin placements on this day = hard for sure on a few holes ! Fun place to play for sure !

Considering the time of year and persistent rains this fall and winter, the course was in good shape. Carts were off the path, the greens were sanded but still fairly quick and true. Played lift, clean and place but only had to do it a few times. Of the three or four courses I play regularly in the area, this ones the best overall.

I gave played there many many times! Great place to play. The staff is so welcoming and try to make sure you enjoy you day and try to take care of any of you needs.

The restaurant is a great place to eat even if you go there and not playing golf!!

For a public course you have the feel of a private club!

I will be playing again when the weather allows!!

The front nine scenery was beautiful; cypress and oak trees full of moss, waterways and wildlife abound. The layout was challenging, blind holes and narrow fairways.

The relatively small undulating greens had recently been aerated and sanded but ball rolled well. On the back 9 there’s 4-5 holes adjacent to residential, roads and such with a few greens that got away from ground keeper.

The club house, pro shop and restaurant were very nice with friendly staff and good food at reasonable prices.

Would I recommend, absolutely!

The Atchafalaya is on par with all of them and yet open to public. The course is excellent,the staff could not be any nicer and helpful. They are always cordial and would do anything to make you day there a pleasant experience. The food at the restaurant is home cooking and excellent. I have played there for the last year and half and have not had a bad experience. Great place great people great food go there when you can!!

Didn't find out the front nine was closed because of aerification until we had driven 100 miles to play
