Great course
We booked a golf-cation with our family and village golf was by far the best course we played. The course was long (played from the gold tees), difficult, but fair. Great hole layouts that were challenging and fun. The course and greens were in great condition. As a first time player the staff was an absolute treat. I would fly back to Florida just to have another crack at this course.
Nice course in general
It’s a classic Florida course and we liked it with our freinds. The club is repairing some holes every week and the 9 was not available. So we had to play the 10 twice……
Marianne’s group
Great course. Beautiful to look at, used almost every club in my bag. Just the right amount a challenge without it being discouraging.
People in the clubhouse were friendly and welcoming.
Disappointed
Confusing layout due to some construction not disclosed on their website.
No cart girl and no drinking water on the coarse.
Greens were in good shape.
Good Public Option
Staff was great from the man handling our bags to the lady making drinks at the turn (no beverage cart). They are doing irrigation work so the 3rd hole was closed and I was told by the starter that we should expect that to continue (on that hole or others after it) for several months. They try to get you to play the first hole again to get a full round of 18 in but there was a crowd waiting so we decided to skip it. We played early since had another round in a different course in the afternoon, so I can't speak to how pace of play is normally after several groups are out. Conditions are decent for a public course, not as good as you find at the semi-private clubs or resort courses but not bad considering how much use the place gets.
Pace of play
Course was in decent shape. Course was a bit soft. Pace of play was absolutely trash. Teed off at 2:48 and finished the front 9 and 6 o’clock. The starter said that the pace was slow but I didn’t think it would be a snails pace.
Use Common Sense
We were a twosome who play at a very good pace. In front of us was a foursome of men who were always at least one hole behind and never thought about letting us play through. Could that be because a woman was part of the twosome? And is that why the starter didn’t ask the foursome if we could tee off before them?
