Madison Green Country Club
About
With over 200 courses in Palm Beach County, architect John Sandford knew he would have to create something special to get attention. At Madison Green Country Club he did just that, creating a unique course that combines many of the best features from local courses, with a few surprises all its own.
Over a thousand palm trees line the course as do over 100 bunkers and 42 acres of shimmering lakes.
One very interesting aspect of the design is that not only does the course get longer as you move back in tees, but the shot angles also get increasingly challenging. This means that the good player not only has further to hit but must also place the ball more accurately on the fairway in order to set himself up for his next shot.
A young teen, his father, his mother and even his grandfather playing together from four different sets of tees will all experience a fair challenge for their respective games that still remains enjoyable!

Very BAD
The course was in very bad shape most of the hole the greens were horrible patches of grass and sand very bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not a golf course
Sorry to do this, but this course is in absolutely awful condition. Fairways are the equivalent of rough, greens are covered with sandy spots and lacking grass in a lot of areas. The course should probably be closed for some time to allow the conditions to improve. There was no mention of the condition on their site, and I wish I paid to play anywhere else rather than wasting a weekend round here. This could have been the worst conditioning I have ever seen on a golf course.
Don’t play it’s a goat track with no maintenance
The Course looks like it has been closed for awhile and there are trying to bring it back but it is completely unplayable. The greens are dead. The grass is basically just weeds, do not recommend playing unless you want a cheap rounds to practice hitting out of the rough.
I played this golf in April and he was in a great chape. Right now all the green are terrible. For the first nine the fairway are in good condition but second nine all the fairways are in repair. Very deceiving to play in those conditions
A Work In Progress But Not Ready for Prime Time....Yet
Have played here many times over the past 7 years, close to home, generally good pricing and demanding layout. Recently re-opened after undergoing "renovations" I was eager to get back there. They note that there were 5 holes as cart path only, that the greens had been top-dressed and "normal conditions were expected third week of November". Alas, this is not exactly the case.
While the cart-based GPS system wasn't GPS'ing yardages it was sending cart path only warnings on some holes. This wasn't as functional as it needed to be as you were usually off the cart path and in the fairway by the time you noticed it, that's if you noticed it at all. Hoiw 'bout some signs at the tee box and along the cart path, folks? Additionally, there were at least two holes that come to mind, 8 + 9, that definitely should have been cart path only that never appeared with the warning. While I was advised in the pro shop that the back nine was "pretty rough" I found it a little easier to stomach than the front nine condition-wise. Onward.
One of the biggest problems at MG over the years has been the scrubby, barren, grass-free green surrounds, bad enough you missed the green but then you had to chip from sand/dirt/gravel. Some of this has been rectified with renovation project and while I'm no agronimist, it seems to me that the ground/earth/soil at MG is just not suitable for growing acceptable grass into playable condition and it's going to take more than some grass seed and water to get this place into acceptable condition.
In closing, my guess is that MG will be in better condition after having more grow in time and could be back in good order by next summer. I may go back in the near future if there's some outstanding discounted price available on GolfNow but all things considered I would not consider paying the rack rate at this time.
Not a golf course!
The Staff was pleasant & I feel bad for them. This is the worst conditioned course in Palm Beach County. It’s not a golf course, it’s a field. It’s suitable for children or 1st time golfers learning the game, but no-one else. Sell the course!!
Not good
Very disappointed with the current condition of the course. A group of four of us played today, and every single hole had major maintenance issues. The fairways were torn up, and the greens were full of craters, making it nearly impossible to putt. For $35, it simply wasn’t worth the price.
Really really bad shape
Very disappointed with the current condition of the course. A group of four of us played today, and every single hole had major maintenance issues. The fairways were torn up, and the greens were full of craters, making it nearly impossible to putt. For $35, it simply wasn’t worth the price.
Not worth the Value.
A little too high greens fees for the shape the course was in. Kind of upset about it
Don't waste your money
Worst condition course I've ever played. Just reopened after "renovation" and it's somehow worse than before. No grass anywhere, driving range mats are hard as concrete and the carts GPS locks them up all over the place, have to reverse on cart paths at some points.
Somehow the conditions are worse than before they closed for renovation. Driving range "mats" are hard as concrete. Not even worth $42.
Renovations
This course, when in season is well worth $80 a round, but I just missed the great conditions. The layout, slope and challenge are definitely worth the money. When I arrived I found they had punched the greens 3 weeks earlier ( not as much of a problem). Many fairways were tore down to the dirt and many problems with drainage.
I was informed they had secured $2 million for renovations and it would remain open to public when they are through. This certainly explained the low greens fees I paid but it would have been nice to know prior to making a 1 hour drive down there.
Conditions
Conditions were far from up to par. Lived on the course and have played several times since than. Course is going downhill. There is no upkeep. Fairways are terrible. No good lies anywhere . Also the greens were bumpy and the range and putting green were closed. All the tees were moved to varying locations
Refreshing the Course
As always, Madison is one of our favorite courses to play in the Palm Beach area. Starting with hole number 2, you have to pick your landing area. Lots of water around the course. This is a diverse course with everything!
Terrible
The course was in a pitiful state, at least half of the tee boxes no longer had grass and the same thing for the fairways, no grass at all, really very disappointed, I played it last January and I found that there was a very good improvement because for several years the lack of investment in the course was obvious
Used to be nicer
Cheap but beaten up. Fairways barely had any grass. In rough shape as of July 12, 2025. At least it was only $35. Have played there several times and usually love it. Hopefully it’s short term maintenance and not the new normal. Staff was great and grilled hot dogs fantastic, but course needs love.
