Madison Green Country Club

About
With over 200 courses in Palm Beach County, architect John Sandford knew he would have to create something special to get attention. At Madison Green Country Club he did just that, creating a unique course that combines many of the best features from local courses, with a few surprises all its own.
Over a thousand palm trees line the course as do over 100 bunkers and 42 acres of shimmering lakes.
One very interesting aspect of the design is that not only does the course get longer as you move back in tees, but the shot angles also get increasingly challenging. This means that the good player not only has further to hit but must also place the ball more accurately on the fairway in order to set himself up for his next shot.
A young teen, his father, his mother and even his grandfather playing together from four different sets of tees will all experience a fair challenge for their respective games that still remains enjoyable!

Not what it used to be!
I haven’t played here in about 3 years. WHAT A SHAME what happened to this course! Still a lot of people are playing here, WHERE IS ALL THE MONEY GOING???? It surely isn’t going into maintaining the course conditions! Greens are slow, fairways loaded with crabgrass and bare spots. Vegetation around the course is dying. Broken rakes by the rock hard bunkers!!! It’s DISGUSTING WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS ONCE GEM OF A COURSE!!! I will NOT BE BACK UNTIL I HEAR THEY HAVE DONE A COMPLETE COURSE OVERHAUL!!! What a shame!!!$
Nice course - played the whites but would play the blues next time. Greens are very firm and quick so stay below the hole. Fairways were ok but no great and grass was thin in some areas. Traps were inconsistent but playable.
Staff and pace of play were both excellent. Solid 3.5 on 5 point scale
Tell us there’s a tournament
I don’t understand why the course can’t post that a tournament was being played the day we booked our t time.. It took 3 hours to play the front 9.
Disappointing
I have played and enjoyed Madison Greens many times. And enjoyed it.
But this round was torturous. I had a 1:15 tee time. I didn’t tee off until 1:30. I finished at 6:15. In darkness.
The course had a “Pro” tournament they sent out ahead of us. The foursome in front of us were constantly behind the group in front of them. They were frequently miss hitting shots into the woods and water. Therefore having to take much time to find their golf balls. With this type of play they were frequently hitting to open greens in front of them. This is not the way “Pro’s”play. In a real tournament they would have been warned and put on a timer.
Madison Greens should have planned better to allow this “Tournament” to take place. It seems that it was all about making money and not providing the recreational golfers an enjoyable experience..
it will be a while until I play this course again, if ever.
Not for a beginner golfer
Narrow fairways, lots of water, dusty fire roads all over... not for me...
Great course
Beautiful, challenging course. Tee times were right on top of another. no spacing whatsoever, also no marshal to be seen. Way too many groups and very slow play. we had a 12:45 PM tee time and we did head to tees at 12:45, only issue was that there was a 3 (ladies) red and a 3 (guys) white presumably the husbands all on their respective tee boxes. I feel bad for the folks that started after 1pm. there is no way they finished all 18 holes. we finished the 18 holes in a little over 5 hours. way too slow.
