The par-5 6th is one of the best scoring opportunities on the front nine after a few devilish holes. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

The double gree of the par-4s #11 and #13 require a lot of precision and accuracy. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

You can go from birdie opportunity to scrambling for double if you don't repect the approach on the par-4 18th. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

Due to incalcuable elevation change, the par-3 10th is one of the hardest 145-yard holes I've ever played. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

GREAT GREAT VALUE ANOTHER HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We loved the course and staff! We hooked up with acouple from Haymarket. They were a really fun couple and he had course knowledge which was great help to us. It was just a fantastic day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice course
Greens were aerated, but the discount made up for that.
Great mountain views
Played in the cold and wind, however, the course was in great shape. The greens are true but a little slow, the traps are good. Overall, a deal at $20.
Greens a little bumpy but overall good condition for early March
Cold, windy day. We had the course to ourselves. Good shape for early March. Need to play a couple times before you can expect to score well. Really good layout in rolling hills. A must play!
good course.
course conditions is maintained.
good price.
everything good.
Great course for the money
First time player at Blue Ridge Shadow and won't hesitate to come back. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Prostaff had problems initially with their credit card system, but they seemed to get that under control.
Course is well laid out and forgives little, particularly on the front nine. Considering the weather conditions played in (40's/fog) I thought the greens were in absolutely great shape, rolled true, and were fair.
No water or beverage carts out on a Saturday...so bring your food/drink with you. All in all a very good deal, nice course, and I'll be back
My husband and I always enjoy playing this course. Great staff and a challenging play from any tee box.
Blue Ridge Shadows is a challenging course which features numerous elevation changes and water hazards. The bunkering is reasonable and the greens are quite fair. Our least favorite hole is number ten. For me it is like hitting into a wall from whichever tee box I use. Mike and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend the course to any level handicap.
Beautiful views and very nice condition
We enjoyed a beautiful day with another couple at Blue Ridge Shadows. Thanks to golfnow.com, we were able to acquire fabulous rates at a very nice course. We look forward to the opportunity to play there again, as well as other courses through the website. The course was challenging, and hilly, but fair to women. Beautiful setting with views of the mountains of Virginia.
Great Course, Especially to Play 36 in One Day
I played this course in November, and was very satisfied with it. I wanted to get in 36 holes, and I was quite upset with the pace of play the first time around (one guy ahead of us was using his ball retriever on every hole that had water), and the first round ended up taking more than 5 hours. Luckily, we didn't have to wait at all on the second round and were able to play it in about 3 hours. The course has a lot of elevation changes, but I found it very enjoyable and a good challenge.
Great course
I like playing Blue Ridge Shadows being close to home and always in great condition any time of year.Love the fact you can hit range balls at no cost before the round to get warmed up..Great place to play...
Great course, Great layout, Always in good shape.
Always in good shape. I have played Blue Ridge Shadows several times. Great Layout, all the holes are different. My only suggestion is to build up the tee boxes on hole #14 (It used to be hole #18) You just can't see where to hit the ball. Grounds crew does an outstanding job keeping the course in good shape!
If Front Royal were 25 miles closer, I would join Blue Ridge Shadows as a member....love the course, from the tips you really gotta bring your A game
I want to play this course whenever I see a Golfnow deal but I have to factor in gas/commuting there since it is roughly 70 miles from my doorstep. Other than that the course is in great shape, greens are very rewarding if you can putt. Very cold/windy today but not holding the course responsible for Mother Nature. BRS is in my favorite 3 courses in the NoVA/DC region I played this year along side Bull Run and Swan Point. Get 3 other buddies in the SUV and make the trek, its worth the haul.
Beautiful and in good shape, despite Sandy
This course is a scenic and challenging layout, and a workout if you choose to walk and carry your bag. I did that and finished in three hours, as the course was not crowded when I played. There are significant elevation changes, sand and water hazards, some blind shots, and greens that require a good read. Despite the recent Hurricane Sandy, which dropped 6 - 8" of water in this area Sunday through Wednesday, the course was in good shape when I played it in Friday. Always a great course for the views, conditioning, and challenges, it is not overly punitive and a bargain for the price. I keep going back, even though it is over an hour's drive from my home.
the course is challenging without being too challenging
The tee boxes were on the rough side. There were too many bare spots on the fairways. The course was very wet water on the fairways. It is the end of the season.
Beautiful Setting
course in great shape. Unique holes. very slopey. greens were slow
Course and staff outstanding
Very nice course in Front Royal; it was challenging yet fun. The course has lots of elevations, some water and great character.
Challenging!
With five tee boxes you can set the level of difficulty to suit your taste. Listen to the starter closely on your first round so you know what to expect. As with most courses near the mountains, you will have shots where you can't see the ball land. The rough was well maintained so you are not terribly penalized for straying off of the fairway. The 18th hole has a waterfall cascading down behind the green. You won't be disappointed!
This course is over priced
Blur Ridge Shadows has good features yet value & maintenance
need to be addressed.
Great course for the money
This course is a great value and fun to play. I had not been out here in over a year. The course has made improvements that will bring me back to play more. Even though it is about an hour for me to drive here, it is well worth the drive and the money. The staff is very friendly.
Great layout, great condition!
NoVa's best kept secret..... Friendly staff, great pace of play, and a
very demanding layout. Definitely worth the drive down 66W....... And a nice change from all the overpriced courses nestled into
Neighborhoods.... No houses here, only 18 holes of enjoyment...
