About
Spread across 218 acres, the Ron Kern-designed Purgatory Golf Club is the longest par-72 course east of the Mississippi River. Nevertheless, the course is set up to be enjoyed by all, with six different sets of tees ranging from more than 7,700 yards all the way down to just under 4,600 yards. Bunkering is one of the club's defining features, with more than 130 coming into play. Nowhere is this more apparent than on the par-3 17th, where eight massive bunkers almost completely surround the putting surface.

Great place to play!!
I love this course, we come up from Indy to play. Always a great time
Nice condition...could use some work.
Course conditions were good. Nice to see that cart paths are being replaced. Played in 4 1/2 hours and that is with waiting on about 50% of holes, so not terrible. Tee boxes and fairways were nice, greens were decent but lots of ball marks. About 40% of bunkers were good, the rest with no sand and some were basically unplayable.
Purgatory is awesome
Great layout, amazing clubhouse with hunters lodge type feel to it. Staff was very friendly, my favorite course in Indy so far!!
Misleading
All websites and google searches will tell you this is a top course to play in Indiana. That may have been true many years ago, but today that is no longer the case. I’ve played a lot of golf in Indiana and can easily think of 10 courses that are better all around than purgatory. This course is well designed but horribly maintained at this point. It needs some serious management change if they wish to market themselves as a top course. The clubhouse was dirty and not kept very well. I will say the staff was polite (I talked to one guy). This is all not mentioning the fact that their bar/grill closes too early to get food at the turn. Playing there left me with one question, why would I pay for purgatory when I could save money and have a much better time at my local muni?

Course held up well for the rain, no roll but still a great time
Awesome course
Have always wanted to play this course. It was my birthday and getting it on golf now rates it was the perfect time to check this off my bucket list. It was will worth it and the experience made for a great day of golf. The course is absolutely everything I imagined. Will probably try and get back at done point but highly recommend this course. From the tee needs to the greens it was perfect.

Older gentleman that works on the greens was super friendly and nice.
5 Hour Golf - Purgatory For Sure
Pace of play is horrible...it really does not matter how anything else at the course functions.

Course was in ok conditions. Some bunkers were amazing but the majority were a disaster. Needs GPS
