Coyote Springs Golf Club
About
Coyote Springs Golf Club (previously known as Coyote Springs - The Chase Course) is located less than one hour from the Las Vegas Strip and just 45 minutes from Mesquite, Nevada. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is highly regarded as a must-play by Vegas golf aficionados. The course's stunning setting is sometimes referred to as "nature's cradle" since it's situated in a verdant valley completely surrounded by majestic mountains and peaks. While the scenery may be beautiful, don't let it distract you from the golf course's many challenges. Water and bunkers await you at almost every turn. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, whose bunkers at the second landing area will force you to think carefully about how to approach the Augusta-like green. In addition to the golf course, Coyote Springs offers one of the largest practice facilities in the country. This 19-acre facility includes 13 target greens and a short game area for pitching, chipping, and bunker practice.

Troon at it again
Troon took over course and you can see the quality of the conditions going down, tee boxes to greens , Thai was always a good course to go give it a year and no one will be driving 1 hour from the Las Vegas strip to play here
Not Much Fun
Coyote Springs is an extremely difficult Golf Course with many typical Jack Nicklaus design elements. This course is designed to be played entirely through the air with minimal options to play the ball on the ground. I honestly do not know how a high handicapper would be able to play this golf course.
The course itself is beautiful with stunning views of the mountains around the area, and there are some interesting holes. But not enough for me to recommend it for others.
In addition when we played, the greens were very slow and the course was overrun with grasshoppers. It appears that the golf course itself needs an infusion of money to maintain the layout.
If you're in the Vegas area, there are better options. Skip Coyote Springs and play something else.
Grasshopper inferstation
We were so excited to have a chance to play this formerly beautiful course. However, the condition of the couse, coupled with an almost biblical infestation of grasshoppers made us feel that the course should not even be open. Unbelievably disappointing.
Just too slow
Great course, conditions are always good but….the pace is ALWAYS just TOO SLOOOOOOWWW. There never seems to be a marshall on the course to speed up slower players.
Nice course but I won’t go back…the pace is a killer.
Won't go back anytime soon
The biggest problem was the pace of play, its a tough course, but 5 hours for 15 holes is just stupid. Teed off maybe 5 minutes late for an 11:50am tee time and ended up stopping at the16th tee at 4:30pm because we had things wee needed to get too and there were still 4 groups on the hole.
Course is very hard design (somewhat laughable on some holes), bunkers in the middle of fairways and around the green, not many flat lies even in the fairways and greens with so much undulation that you need to be fairly close or you are going to have a crazy putt on most greens. If you aren't hitting it well, you will be in trouble.
Sent out to early
The starter tells you to tee off after the group in front of you hits their 2nd shot. Wrong should be wait till they are on the green or off. Over 5 hrs to play waiting every hole 1-2 groups. On the 18th hole 1 group on the green 1 group in the fairway 2 groups waiting to tee off. 24 minutes to play the last hole. CRAZY
First time
I was looking forward to finally playing this course. I got a hot deal from GolfNow. I was paired with 3 very cool locals who played well and guided me around the course. The course wasn't in the greatest shape ,but I had a great time. I would like to play it in November or April-May. I'm sure it would be in perfect shape then.
Underwhelmed
I was disappointed as I was looking forward to playing Coyote Springs. Jack Nicklaus courses are always a challenge and are well worth the trip. However, the pace of play (5 hours +) the day I played ruined my experience . I actually had to leave with 2 holes to go to catch an appointment. The other thing that was disappointing was not seeing a drinks cart from hole 3. - 13. If the round is gonna be that long then service has to step up. Too many courses in Las Vegas to drive an hour for that type of experience. Disappointed!!
Overall Good course
We golf this course once a year when we come to Las Vegas. It has always been immaculate. I have never seen it in its current condition. A lot of dead grass or dirt on the tee boxes and elsewhere. The fairways and the greens are still in good shape.
Beautiful course
This golf course is truly amazing. It is out there but we'll worth the drive. Only 2 issues that I see need to be addressed. There needs to be water coolers on the course and there needs to be ice available between hole 9 and 10. Amazing and perfect conditions even in 109 degree weather.
Only issue was not having water on the course and only one time seeing drink person. Finished around 4 and everything was closed.
Great course and worth the drive!
Wow! What a great course. The staff is friendly, the course is in perfect condition, the scenery is beautiful and the pace of play was perfect. Yes, this may be a bit out of the way, but WELL worth it. This is best non-resort course I’ve played thus far.
Nice track in the middle of nowhere
The course has a great layout, staff is very chill and the grill puts out some decent grub after the round. It takes about a hour drive out of Vegas but if you got a group of people that likes a tough course, this is the place. My only complaint was the bunkers were a little rough, not enough of sand. If it was thirty minutes closer it would be my go to course.
A $500 course that you can play for $62
What can I say, I enjoyed the course very much with the awesome conditions and the cost. Sure, it’s was blazing hot (102 degrees) but the enjoyable round was worth bearing the temps. The greens were running a bit slower than usual probably because they had a lot of rain a week prior and I dis not see one bald or burnt spot anywhere on the course.
That staff are super friendly and very accommodating.
If you just want to play a fun round and don’t care too much about anything else, then this is the place for you. I’d be happy to play this course again.
