Course was great especially when considering the price. Greens were aviated but still in great condition. Staff were super friendly as well. Will definitely play again soon!
Short but lots of doglegs
Played this for the first time in 20-40mph winds making it extremely challenging on some holes and easy on others. There are a number of shots that don’t require driver off the tee. Some of the par 5s and one par 4 are definitely reachable for the average golfer making it fun to score well Greens were in good shape with above average speed and slope. Tee boxes were not. Fairways were still dormant.
Needs attention and time
I normally like to play Warrenton, but they aerated and sanded the greens which is necessary. The only problem was it seemed like a child did the job! WAY too much sand and not evened out on most of the greens. Some were almost a half inch thick but only in spots. Impossible to putt with any consistency. Tee boxes look pretty rough also and fairways are thin. Rain and cool weather will help a lot. Some training on green maintenance would also help.
