Course is in great shape, as always!
For spring conditions, the course is ready to go. Clean and manicured. Greens are smooth and very consistent. I have come to expect a well above average course when I play Spencer T, and they have never let me down. If you have never played this course and live in St Louis or the Metro east, it's worth the drive.
Spencer T Olin
One of my favorite public course layouts in the area! It's challenging without being ridiculously hard.
Course is usually in pretty good shape and the greens have improved greatly from a couple years ago.
Come play and find out yourself!
Nice people, usually a descent pace-of- play, good deals always on golfnow.com and course has plenty of tees on each hole to test your game. Greens are full of po-annua. Makes for bumpy rolls, but when cut down, to roll fast , they are great! Food and beverage is average. It's good day for the dollar at Spencer T Olin.
Great Course
First time at Spencer. Loved the subtle breaks on the greens. Course overall has a great layout and very challenging spots. Some risk/reward holes make it fun! Can't wait to return! Also very close to Fast Eddies makes for a great overall day!
great greens, good value
Greens are in above average condition, even better if more people would fix their pitch marks. They are quite quick. The rest of the course was in really good shape. Would go back and recommend other to try it out.
Great course location
Enjoyed the park-like setting. Only heard the highway at 3 holes. Course is well maintained.
always a good time at Olin
We had a two hour rain delay. The staff was great and got us out as soon as it was safe. A tought course when it is cart path only. The marshalls keep up the pace of play .I play this course four times a year always a good time.
Great course to play.
Although it took only four hours to play, it would have taken 6 hours had our group not skipped around an extremely slow foursome, who refused to allow us to go through. Our group will continue to play here, but the course needs to have a marshal to ensure the pace of play is maintained.
The temperature was approx 100 degrees with high humidity and although there were water coolers on the course, there were several empty coolers.
The course is very well maintained.
great condition in spite of recent drought
among the top 5 best public courses in the st louis area. when price is factored in, it is probably the #1 public course.
Great course
Very nice course. Courteous staff, great course conditions. I will definitely play this course again.
Everything was great until we made the turn, somehow a girls high school team match started on 10 and as they were walking our round slowed unbearably
Everything was great until the turn, somehow a girls high school team started a shotgun match and we were behind walkers, they were extremely slow and from the looks of their shots they were novice, as a result our game slowed to a snails pace. it really spoiled our round.
I will check for those kinds of bookings before I would return
otherwise I would look forward to another round there
Nice Course!
The course is in excellent shape and has a fair, yet challenging layout. It is one of the better public courses in the metro area.
Greens were outstanding!
Ignore all the old reviews online, played this course early August 2013 and the greens were in outstanding condition. It's always been one of the best layouts in the St Louis area. Terrific value for money - highly recommended.
PACE OF PLAY was STELLAR!
There is nothing more aggravating than waiting at each hole for 10 minutes. Not here!!!! The PACE OF PLAY was perfect. We played on a beautiful Sunday and over heard all tee times were filled. The course was busy and we expected to get backed up. We tee'd off right on time...and never ran up on anyone, nor did anyone come up on us. Super relaxing round! How golf is supposed to be! There are a few courses I won't play on the weekends due to poor time management. Not this course! I will play here again and again! Great experience and kudos to the person who does the scheduling!!! Go golf here!
Course has potential
Played the course in just over 5Hrs. fairways were nice but the greens need attention. ball marks not repaired by other golfers, but the speed of the greens are slow maybe 8 on the stimp meter. I can remember when they would run around 10 and the surface of the greens were immaculate. now I know century golf now has a major part in the course, you need to let the greenskeeper do his or her job and give them the funding to bring the greens up to a standard that warrant a $54 Sunday morning greens fee.
Wide open for play but a shotmaker's course
Book a weekday morning and you may have the course to yourself. We finished at 10:30a, but it was still hot out there. Came from playing bentgrass, but zoysia gives you good lies. Hard underneath though. Difficult to take a divot.
Greens were in excellent condition except for ball marks. Greens held real well but were fast to putt.
Challenging is the word
Course is in good shape. Greens putt true. You have to make shots, starting at the tee, to make par or better. I hit every club in my bag. I enjoy a couse like that.
Super value
Probably the best course in the St. Louis area you can play for the price. Timeless Arnold Palmer design is a great layout. Conditions were very good, especially the greens.
Challenging Course
The course was in great condition. The greens were in good shape and putted at a good pace. The refreshment cart made regular rounds on the course.
