Grand View Golf Course

About
Grand View Golf Course in New Era is one of northwest Michigan's best values, offering both a challenging design and spectacular views. The course sprawls across rolling hills sprinkled with mature trees. The dramatic elevation changes off the tee and approaches lead to the subtly undulating, medium-sized greens, which are flanked by contoured mounding. The sparse bunkering is understated but the challenge comes from their strategic placement. Water comes into play on only two holes but there are nearly 40 sand traps lurking greenside or along the landing zones off the fairways. One of the water holes is the par-3 eighth, which is the golf course's signature. It has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water. Though there are some significant changes in elevation, the tee areas are only a short distance from the green complexes, making Grand View a nice walking course.

Best value on the Lakeshore
If it was closer to my home I would purchase a membership
good time
We played 18 holes and was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course. Very lush and green. We will go back again.
Lush...as nice an island par 3 anywhere
Very nice to play if you can stay out of rough by shooting straight. Otherwise you are in for a long day!
Ho;iday golf
Great place to play just before the fireworks!
Beautiful course
What a terrific way to cap off our holiday weekend. This course is so beautiful. And, we played for a great rate as well. You'll love the pace of play.
Best 1st time ever
Great course! We played it for the first time yesterday (walked 18). Great elevation changes. Severe dog legs. Hole #8 is 108 (from blue) par 3 with an Island green. Hole #11 has water in front of green. I'd recommend this course to all. It's very challenging!
Great layout
Really enjoyed the course layout. Lots of different shots required with doglegs, uphill, downhill, and an island green. Definitely well worth the Golfnow price!
wes
course was in great shape.alway enjoy playing here.
Nice course, quite challenging
At my playing level, it is a challenging course, but for this time of year, in surprizingly good shape. Would recommend this course to anyone at whatever level they play
Great course!
This is a course you have to play. Course is in excellent shape. Cant beat this course for the value.
Fantastic course close to the dunes.
While camping with friends, some of us broke off and decided to play 18 holes. We arrived early, and walked right on the course. The holes were well designed, and took advantage of all the great rolling hills in the area. We enjoyed the game quite a bit.
Great Course - Great Condition
Earlier in the summer a friend had mentioned that the course was getting a little rough around the edges.
There was no evidence of that yesterday.
The entire course was lush and green. The fairways and greens were in beautiful condition. I've always loved the way they double cut some of the area providing that "Resort Course" appearance. If you haven't played here, every whole is unique, you check it out.
Really is a great view
Wife and I played and both enjoyed the course. Challenging but fair for typical golfer. Lots of interesting aspects to layout like elevations. Would have even higher rating for value but fairways a little patchy. Greens true, quick and a challenge to read.
July at Grand View
The course was in excellent condition. Far better than what I am used to seeing with East Coast public courses. With the exception of green number 11 the greens are perfect. My only complaint regarding the greens is the number of ball marks that were left unrepaired. I must have fixed 50 yesterday . The other suggestion I would make is offering out of town players, like me, some course notes so we are more aware of blind trouble areas. It's not good when what appears to be a perfect shot is negated because of a drastically sloping fairway sending the ball into dense rough.
A gem of a course that gets bettef with age!
This course was great when it was brand new, and has aged very well. it is scenic and extremely well laid out; a joy to play. Plus feature, it is in Oceana County, one of West Michigan's lovliest!
