About
Situated just north of Detroit, Richmond Forest Golf Course has a secluded setting among forests, ponds, and grassy meadows. The layout has eight holes routed along the seven ponds and nine holes that play through forests of beech, oak, and maple trees. There are nearly 50 sand and grass bunkers framing the mildly undulating greens, which makes proper club and shot selection the key to doing well on this course. Some fairways are open and others are tree-lined and there is also sculpted mounding and contours that make the pins tricky to approach. Good short game skills are definitely needed. It is a challenge at times but the wide fairways and large, varied greens present options for a range of skill levels. Richmond Forest Golf Course's 11th hole presents one of the toughest iron shots of the day with trees to the left and a pond to the right.

Great value
Greens fairways just awesome...Pleasure to play.
Terrible green conditions. Had to put over dirt and grass patches. No hot dogs or anything to eat at the turn. We were about to tee off on the 18th and the ranger said carts had to be in and couldn’t finish our round.
Great layout
This is one of my favorite courses in the Blue Water Area. It’s got a challenging layout and is usually well kept. The greens can be very challenging at times but are also pretty big. The greens needed some work in some areas but overall well kept. It offers a good balance of hazards and open fairways.

Bit of a drive but for price course and especially in the fall when it’s empty

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our round. She was particularly appreciative of the break the ladies get on most holes.

Tall Trees
this was my first time playing the course and I actually had one of my better rounds of the year. the course is a little tight and there are trees on either side of the fairways. There are bunkers that are in play on a lot of the holes.
Good Value Good Course
Good layout only negative was sand traps need freash dand.
Excellent Course
This was my first time playing this course - but not my last. An excellent + layout by a famous designer, Bruce Mathews. We played 18 holes in 3 hours and twenty minutes. A hidden jewel not too far from the city.
My favorite local course
Hands down the most bang for your buck in the area. Staff is wonderful, course is in fantastic condition. Played with my dad Sunday, 7/21/19 — his fist visit.
He enjoyed himself immensely, and bested me for the first time. We’ll definitely be back in the near future!
I love to play this course!
This is a beautiful place to play golf. It is green and lush, has some interesting holes providing a fair amount of challenge.
Tight Tee boxes
Nice course. pace was backed up for the whole day. had to wait 30 minutes past tee time. Completed 15 holes in 4 and a half hours before giving up. First time playing the course so not sure if this is typical pace.
Depends
If youre not a serious golfer, this is a good course..pros..layout was nice..good conditions considering it was high 40s in mid May..greens rolled nice..fairways were in good condition and the bunkers were actually in good shape considering all the rain...cons...the greens are all shaped odd..they put the pin placements in the smallest sections of a very large marjority of the greens, not your normal round greens you see most other places...a couple tee boxes were chewed up ( just to nit pick)...but aside from that i cant complain..i wouldnt pay anymore than i did today which was 36..so all n all it was a solid round of golf..just wish the weather was nicer

Why is this course being advertised on Golf Pass, yet I cannot book a tee time with any of my Golf Pass credits? Why would Golf Pass allow that to occur when it has so many other courses that participate with Golf Pass on Hot Deals, etc. Can't even book a tee time without calling the course - or see what tee times are available for a given day.
