Faters day
Course was pretty good but the Traps were horrible. For the amount of money, there should at least be Sand In the SAND traps... just saying
May be the best
This might be the best public course in the state. Great condition, excellent layout, tough but fair. A straightforward test of golf.
Great layout
Three par 3s and three par 5s on front nine is unique layout. Course is in good condition. Greens are never very fast. It is a fun course with a fantastic view on 18th tee.
Weekend tee times bring slow pace of play. Saturday was a five hour round. Group in front of us played the tips and often had tee shots that didn't make it past the front tees.
Great course for money if you get a deal.
Great golf experience
Course was in great shape, especially the greens. Good speed and rolled true.
challenging course, play the right tees to make it fun.
Great golf course. Did not play well but always enjoy the scenery and the challenge. Well run.
One of the best in area
Great course, good condition, fun to play, nice staff
Best place to play!
This is truly the best course around. Nice range and putting green, great track. My only issue today was that the practice greens and course greens were different speeds with the course greens being slower.
Best coarse around!!
This is my second time playing this coarse and I love it. The fairways are beautiful, greens are smooth, and staff is friendly. I guess my only gripe would be I was told one price on the phone and charged five dollars extra when I got there, but that is small stuff. I absolutely love this coarse and will be back. Pace of play was fine, some people want to play as fast as humanly possible and others would like to keep a good pace but enjoy the day!! Overall, great price, great fairways, just a great golf coarse!
Golf ball washers??
It was cart path only but the course was still in very good shape and we got around in 4 hrs. My only complaint is the lack of ball washers!! In wet conditions your ball is always dirty... why so few ball washers??
LOOK NO FURTHER, YOU NEED TO BE PLAYING HERE!!!
First Off, Hats off to the Grounds Crew at Heritage Hills for their hard work, with all the rain the area has sustained, the Course was in fantastic shape! Golf Digest got it right on this one, open fairways, smooth rolling greens and "Plenty of Sand" that is sure to challenge all levels of ability. Three Par 5's on the front 9 give great scoring opportunities for the long hitters, but your short game needs to be on as well, for the tricky Par 3's, "look out for that downhill approach and Rock Wall" and enjoy the scenery as well. Beautiful surroundings, elevation changes, and a Cart (a must have). I cannot wait to get back out there, and yes I would and have recommended this course to many of my friends. A real treasure for the Shepherdsville Area.
Great place to play
We really enjoy this place, as the layout and views are superb. We will definitely be back; however, I'd really like to see a few on-course management changes to speed up the pace of play. It took us a little over 4 1/2 hours to play. Some folks think that's great but each instance might be different. In our case, 3 players who play fairly quickly. The course was not overly full, but we got caught behind a twosome which included a beginner and the partner was providing instruction. On the back we finally saw part of the dilemma, as there was a 6-some, a twosome, a single and a twosome. We'll still be back, but it would be nice to prevent anything more than a 4-some, or a 5-some with some strict instructions to let folks thru, never a 6-some, and join groups up so that singles and doubles on the weekend don't slow things down. I still can't complain too much about a 4 1/2 hour round, but it could have been much quicker. Great course, however.
Great Track
This course was designed by Doug Beach who also worked for Jack Nicklaus as his top designer when they did Valhalla in 1984. We played Valhalla and then played Heritage Hills and you can see the similarities in layout. It's a beautiful track combining hills, meadows and dense tree lined fairways. We paid $59 to play here and $275 to play Valhalla. It's tremendous value for your dollar. It's 25 minutes from downtown Louisville and way worth the effort to play this course.
