Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Just a couple of issues.
When we arrived at 215pm we were told we start on the back nine because a league would be playing the back nine at 5pm. We cruised through the back nine but when we arrived at hole #1 we found two foursomes teeing off in front of us. And they were beyond awful. we were forced to skip the 2nd hole to get away from them. And the greens were not exactly in mid season form, sand everywhere and recently aerated. Other than that, it is a course I always enjoy playing and is a great value for the price.
Good day out on the course
Being that it was a holiday weekend, I felt the course didn't try to take advantage and over charge like many other courses try to do. We had a great day weather wise and since it rained the night before we were expecting some wet areas but it wasn't as bad as we thought we were going to have. The reason for the 3 star on course condition was only because of the tee boxes and some of the greens were in bad shape. The greens were still recovering from some aeration so the greens were bouncing a bit and there was some fresh aeration around the green as well. Overall the course was in pretty good shape and has a nice layout.
good despite maintenance
FH is in decent shape considering they are a little late with course maintenance. We knew when we booked our tee time that they had aerated recently, so we weren't expecting everything to be perfect. Overall it was a very good round, despite maintenance being performed on the course while we played.
Nice time
Course is straight forward. Not really difficult but fun To play
Good time
Course in good shape play a little slow otherwise a great day on course
Great Challenging Course...
Play this course for the first time.. Me and my group had a great time playing this course. Weather conditions were windy and made the front 9 longer. Especially with all the bunkers that come into play on the front. Greens were interesting. Not a flat one to be seen...lol and pool table fast on this day. So you better get close with your short game. Overall lay out is a lot of fun and challenging! Staff was very friendly. Food amenities were lacking, and that just might be from the lack of playing on this day..... Me and the guys can't wait to get down there to play this course again...
Nice Day - had fun
I like playing at Frog Hollow. But, the course needs TLC. Doesn't look watered enough and the rough is way too high. Hopefully they plan to do some maintenance.
Great value, decent challenge
I played on a Saturday midday with 4 and my only gripe would be the 4some in front of us wouldn't let us play through until the turn. Otherwise the course was in good shape for the start of a season, there was nice elevation change on fairways, and a few greens were 2 tier that forced you to make good shots to keep par. The course was fairly wide open, so it was forgiving at times, but kept a good challenge with its elevation. If you hit more than about 10-15 yards off either side of the fairway, it was harder to recover, but still manageable.
Greens
Good open course. Half of the greens were in poor condition.
very nice course
Nice course with a lot of different looks and challenges. Its always in nice shape and is a really good value.
Always a good round at Frog Hollow
Never can say anything bad about Frog hollow always in good shape and pace of play moves well. Always enjoy playing here whenever we head down that way.
Growing out of Winter Conditions
Course is getting better every day. Winter didn't hurt course much and is growing out more and more every day.
Maintenance is great. Bunkers were all raked.
Course is really open on most holes for fade/slice mis-shots (my miss).
Angry GM
My group and I will return for golf, but frog hollow has lost our business in their pub. Seeing how disgraceful it was to see the older manager yell at his pro shop girl and bartender right in front of us. Very disrespectful and uncomfortable
Staff
Great course and very challenging layout. I have played there numerous of times and the staff is always friendly. My only complaint is the GM, Jimmy, the place would do so much better without his drama and being angry all the time.My friends will not be back as long he is there. Sorry
It was a dark and stormy...
Ours was in good shape for early spring. Greens were true, but slower than in the summer. For this time of year it wasn't in good shape.
Nice Layout
The course is in pretty good shape for March. Will be much better when things green up. Most of all the yardage markers in the fairways are un-readable. They need to touch them up so you can read them.
