Most holes are far apart from each other. Wouldn't recommend walking.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing at Odessa National. Course was in very good shape.. Great food and drinks too at clubhouse. Had a group on back 9 that was extremely slow and Marshall came out to hurry them up. Still had a great time. Starter was very friendly and gave me the low down on the course.
Incredible value for the $$$
Odessa National is easily the best course in Middletown and probably the best value for the $$$ in Delaware. I don’t know how they do it, but hats off to the maintenance team. The conditions of the course are spectacular and it really looks like a country club. How they are charging such low amounts for the quality of this course is really impressive.
Great day with good people
I have had the privilege of playing a couple of Gil hanse’s designs, and this was an especially good example of using the course architecture to make you second guess every decision you make on the tee or out in the fairway. I never felt comfortable over any shot, and although I played this course about 10 years ago, I did not remember many of the quirks and lurking trouble. Fun challenge. Bunkers are very strategically placed, but are very playable, great use of terrain features and hole variety. I was paired up with great people and we had a good day to play. Hot deal to boot.
Amazing Day
Course was in awesome shape and we pretty much had it to ourselves. Staff was super friendly.
Great shape!
After the mild temps and tons of rain the course was in the best shape I have seen it in years and it’s always been well maintained. Some recent bunker improvements are welcome. Repaired some and eliminated some. There were no rangers to be seen, including the first hole. Luckily it was slow in the afternoon but we were splitting foursomes into two and playing through fours, which could have slowed play. With no rangers tracking or enforcing, it could have been frustrating.
