A Great Day at Back Creek
Back Creek is always fun to play .
The course layout is challenging but not tricked up , it just asks the golfer to hit controlled long shots into most of the par 4s and par 5s . The staff is super nice , led by the director of golf Joe. He always takes the time to ask you about your round and experience, a real good guy. Back Creek has a great buzz with music playing outside the club house and played to the range . Some days can be busy but never really a wait to play . I would recommend the trip and a fair price !
Nice open course.
If you don't want to loose many balls this is the golf course to play. Rough is thick but fairways are well trimmed and nice. Greens are fast and very good condition after aeration of last month
Course Nice, lousy pace of play!
Pro’s: Course is in good shape, some bunkers are a little rough.Mostly, because golfers don’t take the time to rake after they are in them.
Cons: I don’t recommend teeing off after 2:00pm.
Our 3some teed off at 2:15pm and we walked of the 18th at 7:03pm. Got behind a 4 some who never acknowledged us waiting at every shot. I let the pro-shop know and they said they would send out someone to help.
No one ever came and they never answered the phone again.
Too many other places to play to treat the public this way.
Rough Too Long
Can’t find my golf balls. The rough needs to be cut. Also, the scorecard does not list the back nine subtotal. The first nine is listed as 35.
Golf 101
We played on a Saturday and the pace was slow. Me and my son in law were playing and we were paired with two guys who were new to golf. Now I don’t mind playing with somebody starting out, we were all there. So me and my son were playing ready golf! We got to the ninth and putted out while the rest of the foursome looked for lost balls!!Then the GM of the course starts yelling at me and my son because we finished and we’re waiting for our group to finish our hole. He said that that wasn’t golf 101 ! The two guys who were new to golf left because they thought they got us in trouble! This just put are real damper on the back nine! Don’t think I’ll be back at least not on a Saturday
Good condition
Played with sons, hadn’t played here in 20+ years. Good shape, big greens, nice tee boxes. Does not get overplayed like Rock Manor. Just too far from me in Talleyville. Given traffic. Minimal tree or water hazards. Not very memorable layout but it’s an ok spot for getting out and practicing your game.
Pretty Good overall
The course is pretty nice, but the rough is very thick. It’s easy to lose balls in and hard to hit out of. Otherwise, the course was decent. I like the neighborhood-style layout with the nice, open holes and not too many obstacles. The price was steep for what you get unless you get it for a Hot Deal.
Challenging layout with fast greens and lots of bunkers.
Very windy day but it's Delaware. Course layout was tough and greens were pretty fast. The foursome in front of us was very slow so the round was almost 5 hours.
Dandelions Everywhere
Nice course. Greens running fast. Good layout. The condition needs to improve. On most holes, the rough is covered in dandelions. When you are looking for a white ball in the rough, it was nearly impossible to find with them. So I guess just don’t hit it in the rough? Pace of play was slow. Very backed up. It was a 5 hour round for my group. I think they need to improve a few things to continue charging the price that they are. But it’s worth playing for a deal.
