About
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park is a challenging but playable layout that is well known amongst locals. At just over 7,000 yards, the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards come into play on most holes, demanding several difficult forced carries. There are also some spots on the course that can be quite narrow. The terrain is mostly flat but the layout provides enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. White Clay Creek has a strong reputation not only for the golf course but also for its various amenities, which give it the feel of a private club. Staff assists you with getting your clubs to and from your car and use of the driving range and chipping green are included in the reasonable fee.

White Clay Creek
Excellent course, challenging and picturesque. Well maintained.
Price for experience at a premium
18 hole 7k yard course with complimentary driving range, short game area and putting. Golf carts come with GPS, no additional cost. Fairways were clean, watered, no burn outs or dead areas. Greens ran very fast and true (which I prefer). Firm greens made the round a little more difficult because rain made fringe/fairway receptive so low runners were not easy to achieve. Played my round at 12:12 on a Saturday for $85. Can’t beat that + amenities in the great Philadelphia area. Pace of play was a tad slow by my standards, but I’m a John Daily “grip it and rip it” type. Course ranger warned groups in front about pace of play without our group needing to say anything (positive thing, IMO). Overall, I’d give this course a solid 7.5/10 (10/10 being reserved for courses like TPC/Bethpage/Merion CC etc.)

Quality conditions - Didnt love layout
Played on a saturday in between showers. Course was pretty wet and flooded in some areas. Aside from that course was really well kept. Fairways very nice, greens well cut, tee boxes a little dinged up but to be expected. I didn’t personally love the layout as it felt like (to me) there was a tonnnn of laying up off the box. Playing it back again probably could have scored a bit better but there wasn’t a ton of opportunity to rip a driver (if you’re looking for that). I paid $55 on a Saturday. Not sure i would pay full rate $100 but given the general cost of golf in the area I didn’t feel that $100 rate would be insulting. Played on a semi rainy day so can’t comment on pace of play.

Challenging
Positives: Friendly staff. Great practice facilities. Tough course that will penalize you for an errant shot. It’s not hard to get a tee time even a couple days out. Good food. I think it’s an overlooked jewel - maybe because of the difficulty.
Negatives: You have to give it a day or two after a rain to dry out. It can be a long day when cart path only.

The course is in great shape
The greens are fast and true. There’s new sand in several of the bunkers. We teed off at 2pm and finished in 3 hours and 20 minutes. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to playing this course again.

Not worth the price
I play 1x a week so not too often, but often enough to say that this course isn’t worth the normal price you’d have to pay to play. Thought conditions were avg, nothing special, for the price they charge I was expecting the fairways to be plush

WCC 4/27/22
My wife and I played on a Tues. in April.
I have found that playing on weekdays is generally less busy, this was no exception.
The staff was great. From checkin to returning the clubs to the parking area.
We did not use any amenities. But that said the facility looked great.
We met the starter near the first T. Quite a friendly fellow who described the course to us.
Then he sent us on our way.
We found that from tee to green the course was in great shape.
We also found from green to T a nice ride on paved cart paths, through the trees and over the creek on the MANY bridges.
As to the course, I LIKED IT. It was a course that needed some “grip and rip” and some “finesse”. The greens were “relatively” flat and rolled true.
KUDOS to WCC.
I’LL GO BACK TO PLAY AGAIN.
