White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
About
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park is a challenging but playable layout that is well known amongst locals. At just over 7,000 yards, the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards come into play on most holes, demanding several difficult forced carries. There are also some spots on the course that can be quite narrow. The terrain is mostly flat but the layout provides enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. White Clay Creek has a strong reputation not only for the golf course but also for its various amenities, which give it the feel of a private club. Staff assists you with getting your clubs to and from your car and use of the driving range and chipping green are included in the reasonable fee.

What a value
Yes, it was a 96 degree day, but the super friendly staff, excellent condition of the tee boxes, fairways and greens, made for a great day. When the heat began to get to us, an unexpected surprise--a cart came by with ice-cold towels for us to cool off. Played the black tees, which I'd recommend for 25 handicappers and lower.
Another great round.
Course was in great shape considering the wettest June on record. Well done keeping the fairways/rough in shape. Greens were pristine.
Great course to play once your game is in good shape!
The greens were in great shape. The rough was tough because they have not been cut with all the rain. Was surprised to see how well the course dried up. If you play mostly in Delaware treat yourself to WCC if you are looking for a challenge
Great condition but quite soggy!
I would not recommend playing this course after any type of rain. It is built on a flood plain with a creek that runs throughout the course. The course was very soft and is loaded with risk for reward shots. Very slow play. Well maintained!
Slow Play
I ran into some slow play on this course which reduced my enjoyment of it. It also is not for the faint at heart. Lots of forced carries and some blind shots make it a challenging course.
great couse, but tough..
great pratice facility, great course. A bit pricey but worth it.
Great Course
Challenging course, staff is great. Really enjoy playing here.
Well maintained course and a great staff.
WCC is a very well maintain course with a great staff. The pro shop is second to non in the area. WCC is the kind of place you don't want to leave. Also they have a great practice facility. The cons are its not closer to where I live. :-)
Greens were perfect
Amazing course that was in amazing condition. Definitely recommend
Worth the money
This is my favorite course to play. It's a challenging course, but a lot of fun to play! There are a lot of raised greens which make chips and pitches very important. The greens rolled very true and the fairways were in excellent shape. They are very good about not filling up the tee sheet so you rarely find yourself waiting for a shot or have people waiting for you.
Price wise, it's a good value considering you get free range balls and free access to the chipping/putting greens. All in all, I would highly recommend this course to anyone who doesn't mind spending a few extra dollars to play one of the best courses in the area.
Top-level Country Club Conditions!
Catch White Clay right about now if you can. Rough has grown up. Make sure you hit in in the fairway. Very difficult to hold the greens from the rough. Approach shots to the green barely make a pitch mark. The greens are perfect and fast. Be careful downhill and sidehill.
I believe the course is fair but very challenging. Need to at least know which way your ball is going. If not, a double or more is lurking at every turn. Choose the appropriate tee boxes. We played black yesterday and my buddies got worn out hitting from 180-200 to the green all day.
Requires Numerous forced carries or lay up shots
This course requires long hitters who can easily carry the ball over 200 yds. I had to lay up on numerous holes because a forced lay up over numerous hazards was the only play I had. I normally play 36 - 72 holes in a row without losing a ball. I lost 3 here but they were the result of trying to do too much. The father son duo that I played with lost close to two dozen balls. The course is in a flood plain and you get no roll so the distances that are left are many times too far. I was faced many times with 160 to hazard and 190 to clear. I am a retiree and 200 yd 3 wds in the air were a long time ago. I really can't recommend for retirees or short hitters. Condition was pristine but the greens were a tad hard and very fast with lots of undulations that made for several 3 putts. Had fun but course is very, very challenging.
large fast greens. But you dont want to miss them.
Only reason it took 4.5 hours was its a large spread out parcel. Well worth the $. First time there and alot of blind tee shots. Would recommend playing white tee if first time there because there are alot of blind tee shots. Can't wait to play it again. Love gps in carts also. But took some time to get used to it.
Good course but challenging
Nice course, excellent conditions and staff is super friendly. The course requires a lot of precision, as you can easily go out of bounds.
If you're playing for the first time, is better to play white.
Well worth a round
Excellent design, layout an dcondition. Beautiful clubhouse and friendly, helpful staff. well-deserved reputation for one of the better courses in teh area. A little short from the White Tees, however. Minor issue, the overall experience is very good
Excellent condition, very challenging course
Played here for ~5 times since last year. Very challenging course if you play from black (which is blue on other courses) or beyond. White is relatively easy though.
Course was in EXCELLENT shape as it was the first day with in season rates. But generally, one of the best courses in MD.
Challenging course in a beautiful setting.
Friendly staff, challenging course and worth the money after twilight.
Precision shots are a must
Challenging course, great greens in a semi-wooded setting
A Must Play
Worth every penny, make sure you get there early and use the driving range, chipping area and putting greens before you play. You're going to need it!
Great course always well kept
I love this course. It is my favorite course to play in the tri state area. The course is always in great condition and the greens always rolling fast. The bunkers always have nice soft sand that makes hitting out of the bunkers easier. The course has a good mix of holes ( long par 4s, dog leg right and lefts, and a goodie of par 3s) I would recommend everyone to play this course.
