Great challenging Arthur Hill design...bring and extra sleeve and then some!
Early April rd, so greens were only half-healed from aeration and were top-dressed. Hence they were on the slow side, but they were tricky and would yield many 3-putts when stimped at their usual 10+. Expect twice as many lost balls on the many water holes and I imagine the fescue would be impossible when not dormant. Impossible to walk this course due to layout but that's OK. I think the play would be more like 5-5 1/2 hrs when crowded due to looking for lost balls, provisional balls, and tuff greens. Lotsa forced carries and elevated greens.
They need the slope committee to re-evaluate because the degree of difficulty is greatly under estimated. On the other hand, play up one set of tees from where you are accustomed and this course is ALL YOU WANT!
Carts are equipped with an antiquated computer screen that is inaccurate and confusing, doing absolutely nothing to speed up play; in fact, I would have shot a few strokes better without it, so bring ur own laser and be prepared for target golf where distance control and accuracy is everything.
Good golf course, a bit tricky
The more I play this golf course, the more I like it. The greens were punched a couple weeks ago however they rolled decent. This course is pure target golf with lots of hazards that cross fairways. You can make a big number very quickly with one poor swing. The only hole I take issue with is number 18. Its quirky compared to the rest of the golf course. Overall, good golf course that is well maintained.
Great course
Played it on a cold and windy day and still left the course a happy man great golf course, can't wait to play it when the weather get's better.
One of the best public courses
Great layout, practice range, course conditions similar to private courses, friendly staff and helpful
The course is in great shape
The course is in excellent condition and the greens are amazing. They have a full practice facility for all parts of your game. If you decide to play back of the white tees, make sure you bring your "A" game!
Great Layout
The best thing about this course was the practice facilities. On your way to the first tee you first come to the driving range with free balls. Then you encounter the chipping area and then the putting green. So while you wait for the tee to clear - you can warm up right there close to the first tee.
I recommend this course.
The Course was in Excellent condition, Not at all crowded; Beautiful Weather, Great Conditions, and all for $38.00 Via Golf Now.. Can't beat it.

Greaet course as always
A very hard challenging layout. Only using 2 sets of tees during the winter Green (5300) and GOld (>6500) Not crowded so pace of play was good. COuld use some work to get it ready for spring (lots of fairway diviots and ball marks on the green). Bunkers were in good shape. Lots of the high grass areas were knocked down but still not a place you want your ball to land
Staff here is always top notch. No starter/marshalls or beverage cart
challenging course very nice
awesome course fairways could use a little repair great value
nice course - target golf
great challenge. requires accuracy. was in great shape for this time of year.
Ranked #3 in Delaware and rightfully so.
Great layout. Great scenery. Worth the value. Gps loaded carts. Friendly staff. Great starter, knowledgeable an explains course in detail. Very nice range, taylormade pyramid stacked balls. Big pitch, chip, putt practice area.
One of my faves in the area. After the round you can go and play some slots or horses or table games.
5 stars. Staff keep pace of play going. It had rained so a lot of holes were cart path only-my only knock.
Challenging track
Greens recently aerated but still rolled pretty well. Interesting layout - quite challenging from black tees in November. Cart GPS has good detail.
This course is challenging but fair
I play White Clay when i feel my game is right. I know I have to hit some good shots and i enjoy the challenge of this course.
awesome
tee to green, simply one of the best public course one can play. love the fact that you have to equally hit it long as straight. hard fast undulating greens, you-spray-you dead tee shots, fairways cut tight, hazards everywhere, GPS dead accurate is also a plus. this course, if you play from last two tee boxes, will separate men from boys.
A real gem
After playing there during an open house, I got very tempted to become a member. The course is beautiful and in fantastic condition. Can't recall that many adjacent holes and the course felt very open. You get to use every club in your bag, including tee shots. Like some other reviewer said, you get more variety and finesse from the white tees than the gold or the black. If you are going to play there for the first time, try the white tees so you truly get to enjoy the course. Then, try other tees and challenge yourself. Oh yeah, the 20 or so bridges that cross over creeks and wetlands really add to the charm and character.
Everything here is first class. The staff is wonderful, lush driving ranges, chipping area, and practice green, plus great food at the grill, and the most comfy chairs ever.
Course is very chllenging but fun to play for good to excellent golfer.
I enjoyed the course quite a lot. Each hole was challenging but still fair. If you are a high handicap you will likely face some difficulties and frustrations so go there with the frame of mind to enjoy the challenge and not worry so much about the score. This course requires more finesse rather than power when playing from the white tees. The black tees require big drives.
Top of the line
