White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
About
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park is a challenging but playable layout that is well known amongst locals. At just over 7,000 yards, the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards come into play on most holes, demanding several difficult forced carries. There are also some spots on the course that can be quite narrow. The terrain is mostly flat but the layout provides enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. White Clay Creek has a strong reputation not only for the golf course but also for its various amenities, which give it the feel of a private club. Staff assists you with getting your clubs to and from your car and use of the driving range and chipping green are included in the reasonable fee.

Best course I've played in N. Delaware
I'd have to say this is the most challenging course I've played in the Delaware area. Water, Sand, long holes etc. This is also the nicest I've played. You're met by staff & they take your bag down to the course. You get a free large golf pyramid of balls to warm up with before your round on the driving range (as well as a chipping/putting area). The course is very scenic & plays long. A great deal of GolfNow if you can score one for under $50.
Great course for pro's
White Clay creek is a beautiful and challenging golf course. Sculpted through wetlands with scenic holes it plays very long.
Forced carries on about 14 holes, water on every hole and many blind shots require some course knowledge. Huge distances between holes make walking impossible. Greens were good but hard to read. This course ate me alive, but I have to say it was really good and I would play it again.
Nice course...would play again
WCC has a neat and challenging layout. Its quite difficult and can't imagine how anyone above a 15 index would enjoy playing here. You can tell the course has had issues with all the rain this year with some real patchy areas. I was told by then started they've flooded six times this year. Don't let that fool you. There was plenty of fairway to hit from and the greens were rolling better than any course I've played in the northeast this summer. Catch a deal on golf now if you can.
Nice course with a great layout, but we encountered several issues.
I've played the course before and loved it, even if a bit pricey. However, two things stood out about our round that were not good. First, the greens were being aerated and that should have been disclosed prior to booking the tee time. Additionally, we had a major issue with one of our carts that was not addressed quickly even with very few carts out on the course. After the first hole, the reverse beeping sound could not be shut off even after taking the key out. By the third hole, the cart would not move at all. We used the GPS system to alert the pro shop after the first hole about the beeping. No one came out. We then found a maintenance worker on hole 3 and had him call in to the pro shop. It was not until after teeing off 3 holes later that someone came out with a cart. It made for a disappointing experience for a course that sells itself as a "country club for a day."
Very challenging and humbling course.
this course will test every part of your golf game. The Rail (19 Hole) can turn a bad day into a happy ending.
Nice course but packed/slow and on the pricy side...
it was a Sunday afternoon, so many courses can be crowded and slow... just a couple of slower groups can really get everyone backed up. Its a nicer course for a moderate price.. There are nicer courses, and there are worse courses. The boat parties that were going on in the coves and on the river were also pretty distracting - load music and people screaming. Again, fine if you don't mind... if you are looking for a quiet round with some buddies, this isn't the place for you.
great, challenging course
Love this course - beautiful layout, challenging, and great staff. The course is laid out around a number of creeks and marsh land with trees. Many tee shots are over water/marsh to pretty tight landings. Play from the black tees to get the best appreciation of the layout.
The course wasn't in as great condition as it has been. The starter told us they've flooded six times this year, so there were a couple temporary tee boxes. That said, other than a few fairways the course was very nice. Pristine greens, and FAST. The staff is top notch and very friendly - two cart girls plus assistants moving around keeping the pace.
This is one of my favorite public courses in the area. Unfortunately its not typically as kind to my scorecard
Shot Maker's Course
My buddies and I got a great deal on Golfnow, like always! The course was in real good condition, this summer has been brutal, so a couple of the fairways and tee boxes were hurting, but the greens were excellent and FAST! Tip: Putt before teeing off.
I real find for the avid golfer with an above average handicap.
Great practice area to putt, chip, do sand traps shops and a driving range with unlimited balls. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The course is very challenging with lot's of carry shots and good layouts to negotiate. Course condition were very good and I would return again. Not for the average golfer, because trouble is always lurking. I played the white tee's at 5884 yards and found it very hard. I don't suggest playing any further back unless you can drive over 250 yards with carry of 200+ yards.
Best practice facility I have seen anywhere!
This course is not for the beginer. Many holes require a 200yd plus drive just to clear the hazards. Greens are true and very quick. Some fairways need a little help (ground under repair). Bring alot of balls and enjoy.
Nice Course
Solid course, target golf and the course was in great shape. I look forward to playing it again because having some course knowledge really helps.
frist time playing white clay
Very challenging course i really enjoyed it and i will be playing there again you must play smart and hit to spots
Great challenging layout.
Super nice staff followed by great facilities. Don't know where to stop about this course. Very challenging carries over hazards makes the course extremely difficult from the back two sets of tees. Cannot wait to play again.
certainly one of the area's best.
I finally got to play White Clay Creek 2 weeks ago and it exceeded my already high expectations.. The staff treats you like you are going to a resort to play golf.. Every amenity is given to the player..On a 97 degree day, a ranger came out onto the course to give us ice cold towels to put around our necks to stay cool.. This was a beautiful touch.. With regards to the course, what I experienced was a demanding course off the tee with many forced carries over protected wetlands. Many of the holes force you to lay up off the tee to a correct spot and until you play this course a few times, you'll struggle to position your tee ball correctly. This course is what is known as "target golf". The greens are pretty subtle and not as undulating as you might expect for a difficult track. They roll smooth and true and you must get the ball to the middle of the cup as we lipped out putts all day on the edges.. Unless, you are professional material.. do not attempt the back tees.. The course plays much longer than its listed yardages and due to the many lay up shots you will be playing many long irons and hybrids for your second shots. If you want a great day of challenging golf with lovely services.. this is the place to go.
Great course, as always.
This is just a flat out great course. Start to finish. A must play.
A hard day on the course
Much skill was needed to navigate the hazards that was allover the fairways
Emil
This course has alot of challenging holes
Couse is difficult. Many great holes. Unique layout. Pace of play was terrible.
Excellent course. Friendly, accommodating staff
Tough course especially from back tees. Lots of carry. You have to hits your shots and stay on fairways or you'll get punished
The course has it all
First off it's in great shape, lush fairways and tee boxes. The greens run true and break the way it appears visually. The test is the correct speed of the put. Fast greens break less because the ball gets there quick. Some may balk at a couple carries, yet if you can drive a ball 200 you can get by. Senior and ladies tees are no problem. Play the proper tee box for your game. If you're a scratch golfer playing the tips, good luck. I cringe looking at those carries that require 270 yards and longer. I love this course. On a final note, some people think the drive a ball 250 yards until they get here. Here you find out who you really are. Accept it and move up a tee box. Enjoy yourself, this game is supposed to be fun.
Great layout
Has some forced carries that make you think about your shot, instead of grip it and rip it, but on some holes you have to play back a set of tees to appreciate the course. Overall we liked this course and would play it again
