La Estancia Golf & Country Club

This course is the best value of exceptional fairways and greens.

My wife and i were on vacation at Casa De Campo and decided that we didn't want to pay another overpriced round on resort so we went to La Estancia. got a great GolfPass deal of $120. Worth every penny. This older gentleman named Raymond greated us and told us he was going to be out caddie. I don't think you needed a caddie but he was great and read greens like a pro. The course is in very good condition, everyone is super friendly and the round took us under 3 hours. Amazing experience and well worth the money. Would not have any issue paying $150/round there. I think its a PB Dye layout. Challenging but also very fair and interesting with mountains in the backdrop and nice elevation changes..

The moment we arrived the team welcomed us. The GM also welcomed us and added some great comments. The experience was seamless and Miguel our Caddie was local and made our round easy..

Outstanding layout the the condition of the fairways and greens were 5 star. Major improvement on the course all around. Definitely a must play...hot deal at $110.00 usd.

Changes they made and are making - changes the whole look of the course. I believe they have a new team running things - worth the look for sure - comparing rates around the island this was the best bang for the buck. Played Teeth of the Dog 2 years ago on the last day before they ripped it up to make changes. The Dog is worth the play if you got the cash - but La Estancia exceeded our expectations. First class team as well - felt like we were the only group there. Took the time to engage - not just take the money. Hope this helps for information. FYI - playing the ocean courses in the Dominican is great but the wind seems to blow hard most days off the ocean - did not make for an enjoyable round but scenery was spectacular - also worth a play but keep your expectations a bit lower and enjoy the day.

We came out and played here a year ago for the first time and loved the layout, but the conditions were less than acceptable. With the course being under new management and new equipment being delivered daily, this place has made 180° turn to the good. Greens rolled pure, tees and fairways were as PB Dye had intended and there’s even an effort to have raked sand filled bunkers ready for play daily (this is not the case at all courses on the island). This is by far the best deal for your dollar in the entire island right now! It’s a mere 10 minute ride from Casa de Campo and probably cost $30 round trip in a taxi. This is a must play if you’re in the LaRomana area. And for big hitters, it’s 7300+ yds.

After losing all their equipment and carts to a fire a few years ago this place is on their way back to being a world class golf course. Layout is amazing with great views and the course is challenging for any level player. Video Is of the 9th hole from tee to green.

Being situated so close to Casa De Campo this course might get overlooked. The layout was great, pace of play was excellent, our caddie Martin was very knowledgeable.

The next time you are in the La Ramana area, and have your own clubs with you, I Highly recommend that you give this place a try. Don't try to call and book a tee time though, because no one will answer. That's alright though, for you don't need a tee time here. When you show up the parking lot will have Plenty of spots available. You will begin play almost immediately. Rarely anyone in front of you, or behind you. I know that this sounds to good to be true, but when I took the plunge, and took a taxi over there, that's Exactly what I found. Seems the resort is a Bank repo site, hence the reason for no phone service. Yet they are spending the money to keep up maintenance on the course, and bar, to keep it open to the public. The course design is from the Dye Family wheelhouse,and I must say, the fairways are lush, and the greens are pristine, and challenging to say the least. Not to mention, that four people can play here for what one Could pay at Casa De Campo. Caddie is still extra. and required. If you do go I would recommend asking for Freddie. He's intelligent, and funny. He'll help you if you want, or back away if you want to call your own shots. And he's always there with your putter, and a good read, when your ready for it.
