Deceptively long, lot of good holes, very friendly staff
Despite having 4 1/2 inches of rain the day before, the Dunes course was very playable, course obviously drains well. Greens were great, probably somewhat more receptive because of prior days rains. Fairways generous,
some of the holes were difficult as a first timer to pick out a good line, 18 comes to mind in that category. Was an interesting course to play besides the sand dunes it has plenty of water hazards as well.
Dunes "The Orinal Course"
I believe Sandridge is one of the top public facilities in the country. Arrive early the practice areas are second to none.
The best
It is one of the very best around! Will play again!
SUPER SLOW PLAY
2 excellent courses.Played here a number of times, even on a Sunday p.m.. However, I was put behind a number of foursomes and told there was a " tournament" going on. And to make matters worse , it was cart path only.A single ahead of me flat out quit.. When booked there was no indication it would be a 4 1/2 round.. Manyreviews complain about slow play. I would not play here again unless the management informs golf now of it "tournament" schedule.

Really great! This place rocks! Thanks for being on GOLFNOW or I would have never found you! I’ll be back someday...
Great venue.
Well maintained course. Greens were perfect and there wasn't a bad lie on the fairways. Very friendly staff. All in all a very enjoyable round of golf.
Best day at Sandridge
Sand ridge is a beautiful course and only a few miles from my home. I had stopped playing there because of the slow play and was expensive for county course. However since I saw it on Golf now I decided to try again. Our timing worked out perfectly and the pace was amazing. Kept moving the entire time which was great since it was 95° Look forward to playing there again before busy season hits
Very nice
Course was unbelievable for a municipal course. Fairways, greens was all in excellent condition. The east coast must be getting more rain than central Florida. Sand is very fluffy and greens are big. I will definitely play this course again on a future trip to the area.
Fun golf . . . isn't golf meant to be fun?
Tee sheet was full up, yet our group of four played 18 in 4:15. I've played here in March for the past several years and find it a well designed and maintained golf course;
An exemplary muni
Sandridge has been my home golf facility since I moved to Vero Beach about three years ago, and with a few dozen rounds at the Dunes under my belt, I'm happy to say that it has all the main virtues of municipal golf.
The course layout is solid and typical of the late-80s - lots of mounding that no one would mistake for "minimalism," pretty comprehensive bunkering, but a good overall challenge.
Sandridge really stands out, especially among courses in its green fee range, with its conditioning. The greens roll as well as just about any public course you'll play for less than $80 or so, with the added bonus of the fact that at Sandridge, you'll pay a fraction of that (I'm talking $20 in the summer after 1 pm, with cart). The county is constantly working on the course, be it improving drainage, streamlining bunkers or, most recently, adding some back tees.
Finally, it's worth noting how great the Sandridge staff is. Bela Nagy and Jon Clark run the show with the help of a friendly support staff. Every Saturday morning is the "Blitz," a regular Stableford competition which the pro shop staff actually administrates (i.e. keeps scores and doles out winnings). There's a group of regular Blitz players who drive more than an hour to play in the game - that's how well-run it is. And as if all that isn't enough, Sandridge hosts the Indian River Golf Foundation, which is itself a wonderful junior golf program. If more facilities were like Sandridge, golf would be even stronger than it is.
Great mini course
Played with my daughter on our vacation. We were paired up with a member. Greens are in awesome shape, especially for a muni course. Rolled smooth and quick. Work being done to upgrade the irrigation system willl only make the two 18's here rven better..
3:45 for 18 holes. Very interesting and fun layout with many elevation changes not usually seen on Florida coastal courses. Will play here again when back in this area.
great course
Love this beautiful and challenging course. Lots of water. You can even catch a glimpse of a gator every now and then, Wonderful and friendly staff.
Bon golf!!
Weekend Couples outing a great success
I arranged with Bela Nagy, the Director of Golf, for 12 couples to play both courses at Sandridge over the weekend. We schedules the Lakes course on Saturday and the Dunes course for Sunday. We arrived on Saturday to find our carts arranged to the side so we could coordinate our participants on arrival (both days). The check-in was smooth and easy and we played the Lakes in less than 4 hours. The Lakes course was in excellent shape and the greens putted wonderfully. On returning Sunday for our round on the Dunes course, again, our carts were set aside and waiting for us. The Dunes course was the highlight. I can't recommend this facility enough. Bela is easy to work with and every detail went smoothly and the staff was exceptionally helpful making for a great weekend.
Course is fairly challenging and tight in some areas.
Great greens, with many traps. A must play course for around the $37-42 range.
