Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club
About
Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club is centrally located within 15 minutes of the Edmonton Area, St. Albert, Morinville, and Cardiff. It first opened as a nine-hole course in the 1950s. Since the second nine wasn't added until 1996, there is a distinct difference between the front and back nine that makes it feel like you're getting two golf courses in one. The front, the original nine, is a more traditional parkland layout while the back is a more open links nine. You'll face a different set of challenges on each. The smaller greens on the front are indicative of the time when it was built and the size will also test your shot placement skills. In contrast, Edmonton Garrison Memorial's back nine has large and undulating greens as well as more strategically placed mounding.

Long grass and lots of bugs.
I lost several balls due the grass being so long just off the fairway. This probably didn't help the mosquito problem either. It's an ok course.
Pretty nice!
Some very narrow and double dog leg fairways that are not clearly defined on the course material. Luckily my SxS app showed where they veered.
Other than that issue the course is very good value for the money when booking through Golfnow.com.
Good value
Course is in decent shape a few oddball holes but still enjoyable. Fairways and greens were in decent shape for the time of year
Slow Pace
I think they should have a starter for the first tee box/ 10th tee box have some control of the flow.
Pace of play
It was a tad slow--but other that that it was great!
Complicated layout
Thank goodness for GPS. This course doesn't just have doglegs.. Almost all the holes have you hitting around corners and then more corners. At one point you have to drive your cart onto another hole to get to your next hole. Fortunately on a Tuesday in October it wasn't that busy. Unfortunately the greens were just aerated so it was hard to judge their true condition, but they seemed pretty fast since almost every time i chipped on my ball rolled right over. It was generally in good autumn condition and for the price I paid it was a nice round of golf. I would play it again.
Good value
The course itself wasn't in bad condition however was in damp condition and fallen leaves made it difficult to locate your ball if not on the fairway. Routing is a little confusing at some points on the back nine however the course still offers a good golfing experience. Great club house and staff.
Very good
Pace was good and they were very accommodating by allowing me to play the back nine to save waiting time.
Course is in good shape.
power cart with built in GPS
course is fairy dry but the greens are reasonable good for the price. I would go back there to play.
Garrison
No Marshal to monitor slow play/pace of play other than that Price was right for a Wed afternoon
New changes
Course in good condition, some new cart paths being constructed. Greens were punched but was told prior to booking.
Interesting course.
Greens were fast and challenging and there were a lot of doglegs. It was an interesting round. Got in at $25/player on golf now. Will do that again for sure.
Great Value for Golf
I have played this course 3 times now and I always manage to get a great deal through golf now however, the regular prices are also very good. The course is a bit dry but overall the course pace and conditions are good and well worth your money. Just stay out of the fescew!
Thanks for the nice comments! Hope to see you again!
Improving but still a long way to go
this course continues to improve but is average at best. Hole 10 may be the worst hole in the Edmonton area. They just brought in a lot of trees and they really help to determine where to aim. New holes 2 and 3 are nice and 12 has some nice improvements. Give it a try!
greens good condition
great course, hardest part was the extreme doglegs, will definitely play again
Well maintained and friendly staff
Great first experience at the course. Would consider membership!
Great value.
Played 18 @ night with power cart on a nice course
, was great value for the money and the staff were nice & helpful.
Kyle
This course would earn a 5 star from me with a couple of improvements... the 1st cut of rough off of the fairways were a bit long on my last visit... a couple of the greens were in rough shape... I am sure that will improve over the summer however I must say most of them were in excellent shape.. I believe that hole 10 could use a revamp... the dog leg is to drastic and should be shaped more to the right to be fair to the average golfer.. Otherwise great value for the price and an interesting course overall
