About
Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club is centrally located within 15 minutes of the Edmonton Area, St. Albert, Morinville, and Cardiff. It first opened as a nine-hole course in the 1950s. Since the second nine wasn't added until 1996, there is a distinct difference between the front and back nine that makes it feel like you're getting two golf courses in one. The front, the original nine, is a more traditional parkland layout while the back is a more open links nine. You'll face a different set of challenges on each. The smaller greens on the front are indicative of the time when it was built and the size will also test your shot placement skills. In contrast, Edmonton Garrison Memorial's back nine has large and undulating greens as well as more strategically placed mounding.

This course has some beautiful holes, particularly portions which comprize what may have been the original 9 holes. These include 16, 17 &18
I only played here the first time about two weeks ago. I think the club house facilities are dated, but have a nostalgic charm like no other that I have encountered. Staff are friendly and efficient.
I found the holes all challenging and interesting layout. There is no doubt the course could use some upgrading along the paths from hole to hole and perhaps some better markings/directions, particularly to assist first time players. But I would play this course again.
I think it is fair value. There is obvious improvement and development occuring on the new holes.
Needs work
poorly run facility - the greens are very slow and and the course has lots of weeds. The restaurant is far from the course and the beverage cart only runs on rare occasions. FYI - Course is getting renovated in 2013 so it will be muddy if it rains.
