Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club
About
Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club is centrally located within 15 minutes of the Edmonton Area, St. Albert, Morinville, and Cardiff. It first opened as a nine-hole course in the 1950s. Since the second nine wasn't added until 1996, there is a distinct difference between the front and back nine that makes it feel like you're getting two golf courses in one. The front, the original nine, is a more traditional parkland layout while the back is a more open links nine. You'll face a different set of challenges on each. The smaller greens on the front are indicative of the time when it was built and the size will also test your shot placement skills. In contrast, Edmonton Garrison Memorial's back nine has large and undulating greens as well as more strategically placed mounding.

Very poor layout
Course layout is very poorly designed, lots of walking required between holes..
If you don't go play, it is your loss
WOW, The best value for golf in the city hands down. They have put 6.5 mil into the course and you can tell. Course is in pretty good shape. Few greens are not the best but course is still in great shape.
You can't beat the value......
Retooled track
This course has undergone a face lift. By the end of the summer, golf will be great here. No beverage cart, and no starter, made things a challenge on father's day! What's up with that? Thankfully the discounted rate at GolfNow helped to ease the frustration.
Course not in peak condition
The course is undergoing changes so it is a little disjointed. The course is very dry and in need of watering. The greens had been aerated (which is a necessity) and the sign in the clubhouse inidcated that discounts were offered due to the inconvenience; however the online rate was not reduced. The bunkers do not have enough snad on top of the clay.
EGM Course
They've worked hard to improve the course over the past two years, however still a long way to go. Lots of mud, tall weeds and very gimicky hole layouts on the back nine (can't hit driver on 5/6 last Par 4s and 5s)
Slow pace of play, no starters, no marshalls
Great Value
I've played EGM many times, going back to the days it was known as Lancaster Park but through the value of GolfNow & the proximity to my home, it's one of the best deals going when you take advantage of hugely discounted tee times. The course is going through a few changes currently, as #2 becomes a par 4 & #3 is the par 3 now, the improvements will speed up the pace of play, the crews do an excellent job looking after the track & it's a great place to work out some early season swing fixes.
Average
Happy with the green but dry hard fairway due to beginning of season. Good for the $$
Nice track
Course was in good shape for early conditions.
We also saw 2 deer out on the course.
Decent shape, easy but fun course
Got a last minute tee time on a hot deal. Greens are in good condition. Some parts of the fairways had very hard ground that was a bit tough on the irons but other than that the course played well. Nice easy course, GPS carts and the clubhouse is fantastic. Good staff. Stayed for 36!
Good time out
Play was slow , but this was due to an hour frost delay
that sun is bright
course is still in development but has potential, more bunkers and elevated tee boxes would help
The Blaze
Course was in fairly good condition, greens good to very good, good power carts with the latest very good GPS/DISTANCE finders. 2:08 T-Time, no waiting. Saw 3 fairly tame Doe Deer and 2 Fawns, was able to get within 30 yards of them (a bonus). They are in the process of redesigning the course , and adding more forward T-boxes. Staff friendly. Good value, we had no complaints. We will go back.
Brutal course for the price, wouldn't NEVER play again
The rough is over knee high and thick, a decent shot that slips off the fairway is gone never to be found. Course was over booked, we were rushed by the Marshall the entire back 9 even though we had to wait for players ahead. Staff was very unfriendly, only accommodating to their regular clients, as new players we were treated poorly. Greens were in very poor conditions it was like playing a bad round of mini golf. The price is decent but the course and staff are brutal and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even my ex wife.
the course has a weird layout.
The fairways are too narrow and the landing areas are non existant. The short grass beside the fairways is too long and the long grass swallows the balls, never to be seen again. The driving range is not on or near the course.
enjoy myself very much
The course was very challenging , the staff was friendly and it was nice to play a course that didn't cost an arm & leg.
Great Condition
Enjoyed playing a well groomed course. Looking forward to the redesign of the course.
rude "pro" working the front desk
We ended at 9 because of lightning. The guy working the desk was trying to bad mouth us saying we were quitters. He should have blew the horn and called everyone in. No refund or rain cheque.
stay on fairway
Had a good expierence. The course was in fair shape but the rough was way to long would never find a ball.
Ed
You can see that there is a lot of work going on in making changes on the course. Some new tee boxes and new concrete bases for new signs. The cart paths could use some attention, fairways and greens were good. It is a challenging course. We will certainly play here again.
Slight improvement of greens
I wrote previously with regards to how slow the greens are, so I felt I needed to update. They are now cutting and rolling the greens so they are a little faster but they just aerated July 7th. Be warned, the mounds they constructed are overrun with weeds that are up to your waist so if you go in there it is an automatic lost ball. Either they don't have enough staff to cut the grass or they choose just to let it go wild..
What time did you golf fathers day. I golfed in the morning and it had a starter and beer cart
