Newlands Golf and Country Club

Overall the condition of the course was fair. The greens were very slow compared to any other course I have played in the past few weeks. There was no sign of recent punching etc. Just extremely slow.

The greens have burnt cracked areas, greenfee,s increased to compare with well maintained courses.

Ended up playing a 5 hour round in the pouring rain when the course wasn’t even busy. There was a group that we caught up to that were taking at least 3 practice swings before each shot (sometimes many more), smoking, taking pictures while we’re waiting at the tee box for them to still tee off and ultimately dragging their feet. I’m not sure how long they were out there but it must’ve been a lot longer than 5 hours. There was no warden to speed them up and since there weren’t many people here that day, we were the only ones stuck behind them. I feel like this course is pretty awesome with its layout but it brings out some more casual players which might hamper the experience

It’s a great course at an affordable rate. It definitely is a challenging course with some very difficult holes. Some very narrow fairways and protected greens.

There was a burst water pipe on the t box of #4 which flooded the fairway

Course conditions would be greatly improved with a tee to green aeration.

Just an average day of golf nothing bad nothing amazing

Have always enjoyed Newlands. A fun track. Good value. Course would benefit from a tee to green aeration.
