Willowbrook Golf Course

Played Willobrook for the first time on a Hot Deal promo.

30 mile drive but worth it; challenging course made even harder by the soft fairways - with no roll.

Rough was thick and penal.

Greens were ok but slow compared to other (more expensive) tracks.

My wife and I played 18 holes in under 3 hours even playing behind a twosome of young men who took videos of every shot they hit.

Must be “influencers” or “content creators”. We just thought they were slow.

Nice course, can be very challenging. There is a lot of work going on, around the on and around the greens. Overall, a very nice play to play a round of golf. Very friendly people around the course and in the clubhouse.

The rough is so thick and long (I know I shouldn’t be in the rough) that even when you see where the ball went you hardly can find it! The course is very nice and greens are very good ! The course is worth playing but be prepared for some searching ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

I've played Willowbrook occasionally since the early 90's and for all the talk of investment and improvements over the years I never actually saw many things improve. That has changed! The course has been cleaned up considerably and the tees and greens are better than I have ever seen them!

Very poor maintenance not looked after very well grass is to long to wet around all greens cuttings every where no cleanup

Since I'd seen a few "O K " reviews, decided the Hot Deal was worth the chance. After the last time played, I was pretty sure the construction in the area would swallow up the golf course too, and it was just biding time...very , Very poor. Glad to see that was not the case and though there is still "much" room for improvement, they are moving forward. Hopefully that progress will continue. So, would recommend grabbing a "hot deal" in the afternoon, as it seems to be a lot less crowded and you can play a brisk pace, get 18 in and support the effort !

Course looks great after renovations but the rough is long and unforgiving. Rough will eat a ball so play close attention.

After a 4 month shut down the course is back in good condition, The Greens are pristine, fairways are better than before the shut down the bunkers and traps have real sand and they have improved the landscaping. The Club House has gone through major renovations and looks good. the only bad issue I can say is the rough needs to be cut a little shorter, the species of grass is thin and the ball sinks out of sight and is almost impossible to find and is slowing down the pace of play.

All in All they did a pretty good job.

They are shutting down for 2 months to do some renovations they shouldn’t have still been open. We had to play the front 9 twice because the already started working on the back. The front 9 was in pretty much unplayable conditions. All the grass on greens was gone basically putting on dirt. Tee boxes were not mowed it looked like we were teeing off in the ruff. Fairways weren’t any better definitely not mowed in a while. The ruff was U.S open height. I hope they are closed if not don’t play there until they open back up.

The back 9 was closed and the front 9 was played twice which was no inconvenience. The front nine greens were all straw covered and I’m not sure why.

The course itself was in good shape and it shows that much work has been done on it. The staff has been quite friendly and courteous. I will continue to play there.

As of 6/16/25 the back 9 is closed. The greens on the front nine have been killed for future repair, time line unknown.

The greens are being prepared for a change in size, so we are told they need to allow greens to go dormant or die before re sizing. If you should play the course I would say 2 putt max. I wouldn't recommend during this period.

What happened to the greens? They no longer exist on most holes. The greens are 100% burnt down to the dirt on most holes. Like putting on gravel!

The tee boxes are in decent shape and the fairways are also decent, but the rough areas appear like they have not been cut down in weeks.

I like this course and really like the people there, but this was NOT a good experience for the money (Similar to other courses in the area) I will go elsewhere for better conditions for a while.

All the greens have been killed, and are unplayable, I was told that the greens are going to be redone this summer, timeline as to when they will start or when they will finish was unknown.
